MG Round 3 Question A

(Doug grabs B) (fanfare sounds; audience cheers)

Doug: Ah, and the Grand Question's been saved for last. (scans card)
OK, the designated star on this question is Dane. Steve and Robert,
you'll both have a chance to win a bonus of CY$1000 -- which doesn't
apply to the score to the game. Match Dane, win the grand.

Dane: No pressure.

(audience laughs)

Doug: You got it. Then, Robert, each match you score is worth CY$100
to your score, including Dane -- or CY$1000 for a clean sweep and the tie.

Folks, last question in regulation before the Squares goes like this.

104-year-old Mr. Perrywinkle said, "I'll never understand the internet.
In my day, a web site was created by a << BLANK >>."

(audience laughs) (think music plays)

Doug: OK, they're all set. Robert, I'll take your answer first --
since this is your regular half of the round -- then I'll get Steve's
answer.

104-year-old Mr. Perrywinkle said, "I'll never understand the internet.
In my day, a web site was created by a << BLANK >>."

Robert: I think I'm doomed, but thinking of the word "web", I'll say spider.

(audience cheers)

Doug: Well, they seem to like that answer. We turn to Steve now. You
can agree with Robert's answer or go with something else.

Steve: Spider

(more cheers)

Doug: (to Robert) Well, you matched your opponent. Make that's a sign.
Dane, Robert needs a spider to stay in business. If you put down
spider, each player racks up a CY$1000 bonus.

Dane: A web site was created by one thing - and they seriously creep me out!

[SPIDER]

(dings; MG-HSH shorter win music plays; audience applause)

Doug: And that's a grand for each player. Congrats. In addition,
Robert's on the scoreboard. Let's give him a triangle and a hundred.

(ding)

Doug: All right. Now, you need to match everyone else to stay in
the game. Chad, we go to you next.

Chad: Come on, now!

[SPIDER]

(ding; audience applause)

Doug: There's CY$200 for Robert. Jay?

Jay: A [SPIDER]!

(ding; audience applause)

Doug: Three for three, now. Ryan, do you keep this drive alive
for Robert?

Ryan: (card)
