MG round1questionB

Doug: (grabs B; walks to panel) Ah, a current events question -- of
sorts.

As you know by now, Bob Barker is retiring as host of "The Price is
Right". Thankfully, gossip columnist Roma Garrett reports CBS has
declined << BLANK'S >> offer to succeed him.

(MG '7x cowbell think music plays)

Doug: OK, Michael. Let's see if you can motorcycle your way to a
tie ballgame. I should note in the event Michael maxes out before
Round 3, we'll keep playing Match Game -- since, ya know, we don't
want questions going to waste. Anyway...

Michael: I will go with the former host of Net Price Is Right,
Jay Lewis.

(boo-birds from the crowd)

Doug: Oh, Michael. Jay knows the whole thing front and back.
But we'll see starting with Troy.

Troy: I think we're all better off now that CBS has turned down
[PATRICK WAYNE]

(buzz)

Doug: You know something? YOU'RE RIGHT!!!!!!! (audience laughs)
Jay, something tells me you're not going to vote against yourself.

Jay Lewis: You are *NOT* the winner!

Doug: He wasn't bad on "Twenty One". But he'd surely be out of
place on "Price". Jay number two?

Jay Cross: A lot of great choices here, but I am going to go with...
(card) Paris Hilton!

(buzz) (audience laughs)

Doug: Shoot, she has no sense of retail at all. After all, she
thinks all they sell at Wal-Mart is walls. Over to Ryan now.

and you said?

Ryan: I think I've got a pretty good answer.

Doug: See, I was thinking Rosie O'Donnell. So that's in the ballpark
-- given their war of words. Over to Tammy.

Tammy: If you ever saw his performance on "Beat the Clock," [WIN ELLIOTT].

(buzz)

Doug: Insert your own Patrick Wayne joke here. (a few laughs) Dean?

Dean: Looking for a well-known, young-ish guy who may appeal to the
young audience and is already on CBS? How about...

Michael's response: JAY LEWIS

Doug: ...Michael, hang in there. Longtime viewers of NMG-HSH may
remember the story George Davidson shared with us when he was a
contestant on the original "Match Game - Hollywood Squares Hour"
series. Halfway into Round 1 of MG, his opponent managed to max out
on the first question, he rallied to tie and later win that Match
Game and at least a couple of Hollywood Squares.

If he can do it, anyone can. See if Michael can make a comeback --
after this.
