MG round1questionB

(audience cheers) (Doug presses button revealing Round 1 questions

on the toaster)

Doug: And remember the winner of Squares gets to play for CY$50,000

in the Super Match. Lori, you won the right to go first. So you

get to pick A or B.

Lori: B

Doug: (grabs B) B for Burstein, I suppose. (walks to panel) OK,

for the first question, Lori and Panel, we turn the clock back to

one of Disney's first TV successes.

Little Rotten Rodney's grandfather is just as rotten. Fifty years ago

on "The Mickey Mouse Club", he was kicked off the show after he

<< BLANKED >> Annette's mouse ears.

(MG '7x wank think music plays)

Robert: I'm gonna have to get used to this.......I don't know much about

Disney!

(a few boos from audience)

Doug: Now now, cut the man some slack. It's his first time to visit

us. And as I noted, we've tried to structure these questions to where

you don't have to know a lot about Disney.

Dean: (wearing golden mouse ears) Hi, Doug. How was your trip?

Doug: Fantastic. I should note Dean was kind enough to share some

tips with Cindy and me on everything Walt Disney World. One of his

first suggestions was for us to wear specially made groom Mickey/bride

Minnie ears and they resulted in some cast members giving us free

desserts and good seats to some shows.

Dean: Since you mentioned Annette, I would like all of us fellow

Mouseketeers to wish her well. As you may or may not know, she is

currently suffering from multiple sclerosis, and she is the face

behind the Annette Funicello Fund For Neurological Disorders. She

also has product lines of perfume and collectible teddy bears, and

all the proceeds go towards MS research.

(audience applause)

Doug: I'm glad you brought that up, Dean. On the way home from

Disney, Cindy and I were on a plane with a relative of Skosh Elkins.

I worked with him briefly in radio. Skosh has been battling MS

for more than a decade now -- and I wish him and Annette well.

(more applause)

Doug: OK, we're all ready now. Lori, chance to score first. Here's

the question again...

Little Rotten Rodney's grandfather is just as rotten. Fifty years ago

on "The Mickey Mouse Club", he was kicked off the show after he

<< BLANKED >> Annette's mouse ears.

Lori: um.......I'm not sure but I will say bited

(audience applause)

Doug: Bited, eh? I think you meant "bit" -- but I trust the judge

can take it from there as we compare answers -- starting with Robert.

Robert: Lil' Rotten Rodney was very rotten indeed. He got kicked off

the show for doing something that you'd only see 40+ years later on

that show they call Fear Factor and in a bout with Holyfield and Tyson.

[shows card] He ATE her ears!

Doug: Hmm... eat... bite? (buzz) (a few boos) Thought so. You could

take a bite into something without actually consuming it. Jay?

Jay: Grandpa stole 'em. (card)

(buzz)

Doug: That's what I was thinking. A good answer as we visit John.

John: I'm afraid to even say my answer. Knowing Searcy over there as

well as I do, he'll get ideas. (audience laughs) I will say he...

[BURNT]

...her mouse ears.

(buzz) (audience laughs and applauds)

Doug: The ears were, dare I say, EN FUEGO! (more laughs) Let's visit

Ryan. Little Rotten Rodney's grandfather is just as rotten. Fifty years

ago on "The Mickey Mouse Club", he was kicked off the show after he

<< BLANKED >> Annette's mouse ears.

Ryan: Well, you know I first I thought of "stole" but that's not rotten.

This is rotten...

(buzz) (audience laughs and applauds)

Doug: That's more than rotten. That's plain mean and hateful.

OK, Cindy, first time playing. What did you come up with?

Cindy: First thing that came to my mind -- he... (card) [STEPPED ON]

(buzz) (audience applause)

Doug: There ya go. Stomp it flat. And Dean, wrap this first half of

the round for us.

Dean: Y'know, Doug, kids back then weren't as bad as they are now.

If this was today, Rodney probably would've stomped on them or set

them on fire. However, back then Rodney's grandpa simply ran off and...

...stole them off her head. (buzz) But don't take mine!

Doug: Yeah, can't run off with the golden ears. Well, no matches

for Lori as we review.

Lori's response: BIT

Doug: Don't worry, you'll have two more turns at bat here.
