MG Round 1 Question A

Doug: Now, Eddie, since you're seeded higher in this semi-final
game, you'll get to pick first. Would you like A or B?

Eddie: I'll go with A, Doug.

Doug: (grabs A; walks to panel) A it is and now the fun of the champions'
special can *really* begin.

Sam said, "I went to school in the toughest section of town. We got the
day off on << BLANK'S >> birthday."

(MG '7x wank think music plays)

Chris: (while writing) Man, and I thought producing and hosting was tough.
If I'd've known how hard this was, I'd've stayed with 'Net Split Second...

(audience laughs)

Doug: Chris, just think of this champions' special as your baptism by fire.
Hope you'll enjoy the ride. Waiting on Charlie to get in there...

Doug: ...OK, they're set and I hope you are, Eddie. Here's the question
one more time...

Sam said, "I went to school in the toughest section of town. We got the
day off on << BLANK'S >> birthday."

Eddie: Well, let's see, how about Al Capone?

(audience applause)

Doug: Al Capone. Eddie probably thinks this school is in a tough part
of Chicago or something. That's a great thought and let's see if it
gets you on the board. We start with the guy who helped start this
net game -- Charlie Pevey. What did you say?

Charlie: Sam went to school in an Asian part of town, and that part of
town was pretty tough. They got a vacation day for the birthday of...

(buzz) (smattering of applause)

Doug: Ahhh...Jackie Chan...so sorry...no match. (audience laughs) Over
to Jay. What came to your mind?

Jay: C'mon Doug...it's so tough that they celebrated

birthday, ya jamoch!

(buzz) (audience cheers)

Doug: That was an idea of mine. Chris, a newcomer

Chris: Don't know too many tough guys outside the WWF...and
they're FAKE tough, so I had to wing it. I said...

...birthday.

(buzz) (audience cheers)

Doug: Definite tough guy and weird. No matches as yet as
we come to another founder of this series, Ryan. Sam said,
"I went to school in the toughest section of town. We got the
day off on << BLANK'S >> birthday."

Ryan: There are a LOT of good answers, but I said....

(ding; audience applause)

Doug: And I say we have a match in the champions' special.
Justin?

Justin: Toughest person I know, Doug... was this cat named Carol
Wallenda. But you never said Carol's name out loud to anyone, even
Carol... he'd kick the holy crud out of you if you did. I said...

...Muhammad Ali's birthday.

(buzz) (smattering of applause)

Doug: Ya know, with a name like Carol, I'd figure he'd be a she.
Probably explains why you don't want to mess with Carol. (audience
laughs) Before *I* get in trouble with Carol, let's go over to
Stephanie Saczawa, aka the Mystic Girl.

Mystic Girl: I'll bet that neighborhood was extremely tough.
So, I said that we got the day off on Hannibal Lecter's birthday!

(buzz) (smattering of applause)

Doug: Gotta celebrate with chianti and fava beans, of course.
Let's summarize Eddie's results...

JACKIE CHAN | THE GODFATHER | CHARLES MANSON
AL CAPONE | MUHAMMAD ALI | HANNIBAL LECTER

Doug: Eddie, you draw first blood in the semis but Phil hasn't had
a turn at bat. We'll fix that right here with B.
