5-Card Poker

Doug: And we're back on our finale of Net Poker. Andy Silikovitz and David Hammond are playing with us tonight.

Andy just won the first round. If he wins this or the next round, he wins the game. David must win this *and* the next round to win the game.

Now the winner of this game plays for CY$1,000,000 in Deuces Wild. The runner-up plays Deuces Wild for CY$75,000 *and* -- what else, Scarlett?

(new car music plays)

Scarlett: For your driving enjoyment, IT'S A GUMPERT APOLLO! (audience cheers) This German supercar is ready to fulfill your need for speed -- with a 4.2L v8 engine plus two turbochargers, gull-wing doors and much, much more. This fantastic car, worth $445,350, plus the cyber-cash prize of CY$75,000 make the Outlaw's Jackpot for tonight's runner-up worth -- CY$520,350.

(audience cheers)

Doug: Wow! A Gumpert Apollo and 75-thou. Not a bad runner-up prize package to shoot for. Still more loot to go after as we resume play with 5-Card Poker.

STRPL8S

Doug: And we're playing Star Plates -- a throwback to Net Bumper Stumpers from -- wow -- 15 years ago. You remember those days, huh, Deej?

D.J.: (on her cell phone -- again) Depressing, isn't it. Well, don't worry about a thing, baby.

(Doug clears throat loudly) (audience laughs)

D.J.: Oh, gotta go. Show's back on. Love you. (hangs up) Sorry. Can we edit this out in post?

(more laughs)

Doug: I'll think about it. In any event, in Star Plates, I'll show you two licenses plates that, hypothetically, can belong on cars owned by a famous person. All you have to do is name that famous person. For example...

Doug: ...these plates read "Family Feud" and "bald man". And the correct answer here is Steve Harvey. He currently hosts "Family Feud" and he's a -- ya know -- "bald man".

Doug: Now, we're starting from scratch on points. Each time you correctly identify a famous person, you earn 10 points and a choice of one of two up cards for your poker hand. Be careful -- because if you miss, the 10 points and control of the cards go to your opponent.

After you each collect four cards, we'll play a 15-point blind card pair of plates. High hand will then be worth 25.

David cut the cards for this round since he finished in second place in Video Poker. Let's see the first two cards from the top of the deck.

D.J.: All right, we're starting with the King of Hearts and the Ace of Spades.

Doug: With two face cards of different suits up for grabs, I guess now's a good time to note a royal flush pays a million. So with that, take a look at these two plates and tell me the famous person associated with the messages on these plates.

(David buzzes in)

Doug: David.

David: Patrick Duffy.

Doug: That's right.

(dings; audience applause)

Doug: Plates read "I'm Bobby" and "on 'Dallas'" -- and how true that is. Less said about the nightmare involving him hosting a Bingo-styled game show the better.

(audience laughs)

Doug: David, first 10 points of a round you need are yours. Which card?

David: I'll take the King.

Doug: Cowboy goes to David.

ANDY

DAVID

Doug: Andy gets the lady in black. We get two more cards.

(scattered groans)

D.J.: And -- yeah. The Ace of Hearts and the 10 of Hearts.

Doug: Million wasn't meant to be this round. Oh well. Next two plates. Name the star associated with the messages on these plates.

(David buzzes in)

Doug: David again.

David: Robin Williams

Doug: Right again.

(ding; audience applause)

Doug: First plate reads "was Mork" -- a nod to his work on "Mork & Mindy". Second plate reads "Crazy Ones" -- his current sitcom. And we know the show's titled "*The* Crazy Ones". So save the Haterade.

David, you're up to 20 points. Which card?

David: I'll take the Ace.

Doug: Rocket for David.

ANDY

DAVID

Doug: Andy gets the 10 here. Two more cards, please.

D.J.: The 9 of Diamonds and the 10 of Diamonds.

Doug: Well -- I think we know which card's going to be declined. Andy could use the points. David's looking to extend his lead -- with these two plates. Again, name the famous person.

(Andy buzzes in)

Doug: Andy.

Andy: Joe Biden.

Doug: That's him.

(ding; audience applause)

Doug: Top plate reads "Barack's V.P." -- or Vice President. The other reads "former Senator"; he was previously a U.S. Senator from Maryland).

Andy, you're down 10 points. Which card do you think will help your cause?

Andy: The 10.

Doug: And with that...

ANDY

DAVID

Doug: ...Andy now has a pair. David's straight draw is broken up -- but still has two high cards. Let's see the next two, please.

D.J.: The King of Diamonds and the Jack of Hearts.

Doug: Two face cards before the blind cards. Next two plates. Name the famous person these plate would logically belong to.

(Andy buzzes in)

Doug: Andy again.

Andy: Miranda Cosgrove.

Doug: And we're tied at 20.

(ding; audience applause)

Doug: First plate reads "was Carly" -- a nod to her work on the TV series "iCarly". The other plate's message is the title of her album -- "Sparks Fly". Which card before the blind cards, Andy?

Andy: The King.

Doug: And as we get ready for the blind cards...

ANDY

DAVID

Doug: ...Andy has a pair of 10s with two different face cards. David has an Ace, 9 and two different face cards. Anything can still happen as we bring on the last two cards for the round.

Doug: And let's up the ante -- 15 points with these two plates. Again, please identify the famous person based on these plates. to.
