5-Card Poker

(David buzzes in)

Doug: David.

David: The only thing I can get out of it is Ronald Regean.

(buzz)

Doug: Ohh, no. The bottom plate does read "love Nancy". But the Nancy in this case is the wife of -- Paul McCartney. Top plate reads "former Beatle". Paul was on the Jimmy Kimmel show a while back and wowed the crowd.

(ding)

Doug: Well -- that means Andy picks up the 15 points. He has 35; David has 20. But 25 points hang in the balance. Andy, which card would you like?

Andy: The left card.

Doug: Left it shall be for you.

ANDY

DAVID

Doug: Right card goes to David. Anything can still happen. There are three other Aces, a couple of other Kings and three other Jacks we've yet to see. Maybe you've got one of them. Deej, let's see.

ANDY

DAVID

(audience groans)

Doug: Fiddlesticks. A 9 instead. Andy, already, your pair's better for 25 points.

ANDY
DAVID

(ding; audience applause)

Doug: OK, before we set up for the Poker Run, what was Andy's last card?

ANDY

DAVID

(scattered groans and woahs)

Doug: King of Clubs. Yeah, blind cards were pivotal that time.

Well -- we finish up the round with the Poker Run.

(motorcycle sfx)

Doug: Remember, if Andy wins this round, he wins the game and the try for CY$1,000,000. If David wins, we have a tie game and settle the issue with Joker Poker.

In this Poker Run, the players build on their current point totals. The first to reach 100 points wins the round. Value of each analogy is 15 points *plus* five points for each face card that comes down the chute. These are the next two cards from the top of the deck. May we have those cards, please?

D.J.: The Queen of Clubs and the Ace of Diamonds.

Doug: So that means 20 points a question. Andy is only two right answers away from winning our final game. David, you'll need four right to send this game to the game-deciding Joker Poker.

We always have lots of questions in the Poker Run starting -- NOW!

Doug: Andy.

Andy: Bugle.

(ding)

Doug: That's right. Andy's one right answer away from winning the game. David, you need two in a row.

Doug: Last analogy compared an entertainment production to the actress who played the title role of Alice Hyatt.

Wow, David, what a comeback. Normally at this time, you get a chance to win CY$7500 -- but it's the last show -- so we *give* you CY$7500 automatically. Andy, you'll pocket another CY$1000 for being runner-up in this round.

(smooth jazz theme plays)

Doug: When we come back, Joker Poker determines our final main game winner. Y'all come back now -- ya hear?

(audience applause)
