Deuces Wild Poker

Doug: And we're back on Net Poker's finale. David, again, our thanks for making this last game an exciting one. You're CY$19,800 to the good -- but much more can be won in the next few moments.

Quick refresher of what's at stake -- a new Gumpert Apollo and a cyber-cash prize of CY$75,000. Total value of this final Outlaw's Jackpot -- CY$520,350.

(audience cheers)

Doug: To win it all, pick four numbers, draw four deuces and it's all yours. Of course, the ten outlaws hiding on the board stand in your way. There's one outlaw in the top row, two in the second, three in the third and four in the last row.

Should you run into at least one outlaw, in the interest of spicing things up on our last show, we'll give you a chance to make a royal flush for CY$40,000.

(audience cheers)

Doug: All the other values are doubled. So best of luck to you and let's start at the top row. Pick a number, please.

David: 6.

Doug: Number 6. Let's get this man off to a great start.

(dings; audience applause)

Doug: And that's a great start. Deej will place the Deuce of Spades...

(Doug notices D.J. on her cell phone *again*) (audience laughs)

Doug: ...uh -- perhaps after you pick a number from the bottom row. Anyhoo, let's go to the next row. Two outlaws to bypass. You're going for the Deuce of Hearts here.

David: 9.

Doug: Maybe the last time I get to say this. (impersonating Neil Everett) Number 9, number 9, number 9.

(dings; audience applause)

Doug: And you're a step closer. Now here's where things get tricky. Three outlaws to avoid. Pick one of the three good numbers and you'll have the Deuce of Clubs *and* be that much closer to the car and CY$75,000.

David: 17.

Doug: Number 17. Let's cross our fingers and hope for another deuce with 17.

(outlaw says "YEEEEE-hawwww!") (audience groans)

Doug: Darn. Well -- let's improve the chances at CY$40,000. Last row -- four outlaws -- and a shot at the Deuce of Diamonds.

David: 20.

Doug: Number 20. Let's give this man three deuces to play with.

(outlaw says "YEEEEE-hawwww!") (audience groans)

Doug: Well -- shucks. Well, you'll get two Deuces to play with after we reveal the rest of the outlaws' locations.

(FF reveal sfx)

Doug: There they were.

D.J.: (still on her phone) Honey, I think we're almost done with the commercial break. But *man* I can't wait. I love you. (hangs up) (a few laughs from the crowd) How much time left in the commercial break?

(audience laughs)

Doug: The break ended about two minutes ago, Deej!

(more laughs and applause)

Doug: David here earned the Deuces of Spades and Clubs. So if you could place them on the board, please.

D.J.: Oh, sure thing. (quickly places cards on board)

Doug: If she looks like she's on Cloud 9, there's a reason for it. We'll explain as we say goodbye. But for now, David, your deuces are now on the board. Now they'll join some natural cards.

Doug: These are the first two cards from the top of the deck you cut during the break. You'll pick one card; the other will be discarded. Then we'll repeat this process again and again.

Doug: By the time you complete your hand, we hope you'll have three natural cards higher than a 9 and of the same suit. That way you pocket CY$40,000. (audience cheers) As noted earlier, we've doubled all the other stakes. Worst case scenario is three of a kind for a grand. So -- which card are ya startin' with? Left or right?

David: 10 years I have wanted to be the only player to get the Royal. Let's start on the left.

Doug: Yeah, we've had a close call or two over the last decade when it comes to the natural royal. Let's see if getting *this* royal is possible. Starting with the left card. Anything but a 9 would be great.

(audience groans)

D.J.: Darn -- 9 of Clubs. Sorry, David.

Doug: Really!?!?

Doug: Oh well. Let's hope there's another 9 in this next pair.

Doug: And there they are. Left or right?

David: This reminds me of 10 years ago, I ended up with four 9s. Let's take the left again.

Doug: All right, let's see if *five* 9s are within your grasp. Deej, oblige the man, please.

(audience groans)

D.J.: Ugh! King of Spades.

Doug: Well -- four 9s or four Kings are still possible.

Doug: And with that, here come your last two cards.

Doug: Best hope is a 9 or King for four large. Which card completes your hand?

David: Well, I started Net Poker with four of a kind, let's go out that way! I'll take the right card.

Doug: Let's hope that's the right move. If it is, you'll pocket another CY$4000. Deej?

(audience applause)

D.J.: The King of Hearts.

Doug: All right, quads for CY$4000. Good for you. As she completes your hand, we'll crunch the numbers and tell you you're leaving us with CY$23,800.

(audience cheers) (smooth jazz theme plays)

Doug: Congratulations, David, and our best wishes in all you pursue. We'll be back with Andy as he pursues CY$1,000,000 in our last game of Deuces Wild Poker -- here on Net Poker.
