Deuces Wild Poker

Doug: And we're back. We realized in the third Poker Run we repeated a question that was used during the second Poker Run. Tony scored on that repeat question. That put Andy at a slight disadvantage -- but Andy won anyway. While that didn't affect the outcome of the game, we regret the oversight.

Andy Silikovitz has CY$11,525 so far. Andy, we're a little short on time -- so we're going to dive right into Deuces Wild Poker.

Doug: Ten outlaws have randomly found homes on the board. There's one outlaw in the top row, two in the second, three in the third and four in the bottom row.

You'll pick a number from each row. Each time you avoid an outlaw, you win a deuce for your hand. Deuces are wild, as the name of this round implies -- and the more deuces you have, the better the chances of winning CY$20,000.

Avoid all the outlaws and win all four deuces and you'll win the outlaw's jackpot of CY$60,000.

(audience cheers)

Doug: Best of luck. We're all with you now. Let's start at the top row. One outlaw to avoid. You're playing for the Deuce of Spades.

Andy: 6.

Doug: Number 6. Good start?

(outlaw says "YEEEEE-hawwww!")

Doug: Really?!?!? The one number you didn't want to start with -- and you started with an outlaw.

Well, at least CY$65,000 for the next show. Let's focus on 20-grand. Next row, you're playing for the Deuce of Hearts and there are two outlaws there.

Andy: 11.

Doug: Number 11, please.

(dings; audience applause)

Doug: There ya go. Deej will deal out that Deuce and any others you win later. Let's go for the Deuce of Clubs. Three outlaws to avoid on the third row.

Andy: 16

Doug: Is 16 sweet?

(dings; audience applause)

Doug: Yes it is. Last wild card to play for. You're going for the Deuce of Diamonds and have to dodge four outlaws.

Andy: 21.

Doug: Does he hit it big with 21?

(outlaw says "YEEEEE-hawwww!")

Doug: Rats. Another outlaw. Please reveal where the other outlaws were.

(FF reveal sfx)

Doug: There they were -- and here they are...

Doug: ...the two deuces you won. Now, here they come...

Doug: ...the first two cards from the top of the deck that you cut during the break. You'll pick one card from this pair for your hand; the other is discarded. We'll repeat this process with the next two pairs of blind cards.

Doug: At the end of this process, we hope you've drawn cards higher than a 9 all of the same suit for a CY$20,000 royal flush.

(audience cheers)

Doug: So what will it be -- left or right?

Andy: Gauche, s'il vous plait.

Doug: Do you mean the left or the right card?

Andy: Left.

Doug: It would be fun to play Net Poker in Monte Carlo -- but for now, we'll stay in the states. Deej, please show us what's on the gauche.

D.J.: Très bien, Andy. Ace.

Doug: Not you too? (audience laughs) Well, as I like to say, this defines your mission, Andy.

Doug: Find two more Diamonds higher than a 9 and you win CY$20,000. Next two cards come down the chute.

Doug: There they are. Please select a card -- in English. :)

(a few laughs from the crowd)

Andy: The right.

Doug: All right, let's see if the right card is another Diamond and higher than a 9. Deej, please show us good news.

D.J.: Sorry, Andy -- 9 of Hearts.

Doug: UGH! Down the food chain in a hurry.

Doug: I'm afraid the best you can do is four of a kind for CY$2000. Let's hope an Ace or 9 -- preferably both -- is in this last pair.

Doug: For a possible CY$2000 -- left or right?

Andy: The left.

Doug: Going with the left again. If there's an Ace or 9 on the left, you win CY$2000. Deej, please turn it over.

(audience groans)

D.J.: Sorry -- the King of Clubs.

(smooth jazz theme plays)

Doug: Darn -- well no matter how you look at it, you have three Aces, three Kings or three 9s. That adds CY$500 to your coffers. Total for one win of CY$12,025.

Doug: You ran into two outlaws; at CY$5000 each, we add CY$10,000 to the outlaw's jackpot. Andy, either you or one of your challengers will play for CY$70,000 here in the Deuces Wild round.

We'll see Andy on the next show. We'll see the rest of you for a quick version of the 24K Video Slot Challenge -- after this.

(audience applause)
