5-Card Poker

======================================================================

(slow-tempo piano music plays over various scenes of the February 10,
2013, tornado that struck Forrest, Lamar, Lawrence, Marion and Wayne
Counties in Mississippi; cast members of Net Poker are unseen as
they speak)

D.J.: These have been my neighborhoods for nearly all my life.

Doug: I graduated from college in Hattiesburg -- and decided to make
my home here after I got my diploma.

Scarlett: I haven't been in the area long -- but I enjoy its friendly
atmosphere.

(fade to Doug, D.J. and Scarlett on camera -- on the Net Poker set)

D.J.: Hundreds of homes and buildings were destroyed in the tornado.
Many are healing after they were injured. But amazingly -- no one
was killed that fateful day.

Scarlett: Now we work to restore and rebound. And with your help, we
can get there.

Doug: All of us at Net Poker urge you to make a monetary donation to an
organization of your choice -- that will help those affected by
the February 10th, 2013, tornado.

Doug, D.J. and Scarlett: Mississippi would do the same for you -- if
this happened to you.

======================================================================

(smooth jazz theme plays)

Scarlett: Some of our departing contestants will receive...

Dolphins & Friends bite-size crackers. They have a cheddar cheese taste as big as the ocean. For a wholesome snack anytime, try Dolphins & Friends bite-size cheddar cheese crackers.

Popeye's famous fried chicken for the New Orleans flavor. Spicy or mild, you'll love that chicken from Popeye's.

And from Hawaiian Tropic, an attractive beach mat and natural tanning lotions and oils. Hawaiian Tropic, the tan of the islands.

The winner of tonight's game plays for the Outlaw's Jackpot currently worth CY$50,000.

(audience cheers)

Scarlett: And now, Erik and Michael try to stay in the game in 5-Card Poker. Back to Doug Morris and Net Poker.

Doug: I thank you, Scarlett. Erik, Michael, time to go heads up in 5-Card Poker -- as we play one of my favorite themes.

INITIAL DESCRIPTIONS

Doug: Initial Descriptions. I'll show you the initials of a famous persoan -- and then describe that person using words that start with those initials. An example from an earlier show.

M.M.

Magnificent Mime

Doug: The letters M.M. for a magnificent mime would be -- Marcel Marceau. Every time you chime in with a right answer, you score 10 points and the right to pick one of two up cards for your poker hand. If you buzz in and give me a wrong answer, the points and control of the cards go to your opponent.

After we play four initial descriptions, we'll go to a 15-point blind card description -- and then award 25 points for high hand. *Then*, we race to 100 points in the Poker Run.

Michael, since you finished second in the previous Poker Run, you cut the cards for this round. Let's see the first two cards

D.J.: The King of Hearts and the 9 of Hearts.

Doug: And at the risk of influencing your decision, I should note the CY$1,000,000 bonus for a natural royal flush is still in play. So with that, let's go to the big screen and see that first initial description.

V.W.

Vowel Woman

(Erik buzzes in)

Doug: Erik.

Erik: Vanna White.

Doug: That's right.

(ding; audience applause)

Doug: She's just the vowel woman with puzzles on her mind. (light laughter from the crowd) Which card, Erik?

Erik: King of Hearts, Doug.

Doug: The King of Hearts goes to Erik.

ERIK

MICHAEL

Doug: Michael gets the 9 out of that deal. Two more cards, please.

(a few groan from the crowd)

D.J.: The Queen of Spades and the 10 of Clubs.

Doug: Million's out of the discussion -- but a new famous person enters the discussion. Take a look.

P.D.

Popular "Dallas"ite

(Michael buzzes in)

Doug: Michael.

Michael: Patrick Duffy.

Doug: That's it.

(ding; audience applause)

Doug: Popular on the original "Dallas" series, popular on the current "Dallas" -- not quite as popular on some bingo-themed game show. (a few laughs from the crowd) We're tied at 10, Michael, which card?

Michael: The queen, please.

Doug: Lady in black for you.

ERIK

MICHAEL

Doug: Erik gets the 10. Two more cards, please.

D.J.: The Jack of Hearts and the 10 of Spades.

Doug: One of you will be on a straight draw after this description. Maybe both. Let's have a look at the next description.

M.D.

Monkees' Drummer

(Erik buzzes in)

Doug: Erik.

Erik: Micky Dolenz.

Doug: That's correct.

(ding; audience applause)

Doug: You have the lead back -- and the pick back.

Erik: 10 of Spades please, Doug.

Doug: Since you said "please", OK. :)

ERIK

MICHAEL

Doug: Erik gets the 10. Two more cards, please.

D.J.: The 9 of Diamonds and the King of Diamonds.

Doug: All right, getting close to the blind cards. Last 10-pointer of the round.

F.G.

Famous Gopher

(Michael buzzes in)

Doug: Michael.

Michael: Fred Grandy

Doug: From "The *Love* Boat". That's right.

(ding; audience applause)

Doug: We're tied at 20. Michael, which card?

Michael: I can't let Erik have two pair, so I will take the King.

Doug: All right, going for a King-high straight.

ERIK

MICHAEL

Doug: Erik's working on one pair of 10s joined by a King and a 9. Next two cards come face down.

Doug: And we go to the blind card description worth 15 points. We'll then award 25 for high hand before we start another Poker Run.

Now, for this next initial description, we *only* want the last name of this famous person.

U.S.G.

Union's Successful General

(Michael buzzes in)

Doug: Michael.

Michael: Grant.

Doug: That's right.

ERIK
MICHAEL

(ding; audience applause)

Doug: He was born Hiram Ulysses Grant -- but he didn't like the idea his initials spelled out the word "HUG". So his middle name became his first name and he just adopted an S for his new middle initial.

History shows the S stood for nothing in particular. That's why we just asked for the last name only.

So with that, Michael, which card?

Michael: Hopefully, the right card is a face or a 10. I will go with the right card.

Doug: He's got this whole thing analyzed.
