Hello all and welcome to our tenth anniversary celebration of Net Poker. It was in the summer of 2003 that we started this card game -- and this has grown quite tremendously.
Some notes before we proceed...
\ We just retired an undefeated champion -- so the door's open for three players.
\ As always, some of you might have to wait. If you participated in the 53rd, 54th or 55th main game, please sit on your hands and let someone else in on the fun.
...now it's on to qualifying. The three closest players to the right answer, high or low, get to play.

Before the show, we were visited by the alien from the bonus screen of the Area 51 video slot game from Net Poker. The alien beamed down two different amounts of cyber-money. Each amount was worth less than CY$10,000; one amount ended in 50 and the other ended in 00.
What is the total amount of cyber-money that came from the alien's spaceship? Given the mathematics, please make sure your answer ends in 50 and is lower than CY$19,950.
Let's make the answers due Tuesday at 11:00pm EST/10:00pm CST.
(time passes)
Heheh, someone thought the alien was cheap and only beamed down CY$50. Hey, it is possible for at least one zero to be hidden. Let's reveal all the question marks.

No hidden goose eggs. CY$4200 and CY$2950 add up to CY$7150 in anyone's language. Who's the closest to CY$7150?
Erik Mokracek CY$7,250Hey, sharp shootin', Tex. Off by a C-note. Next closest?
Tony Peters CY$9,550It's Tony. And headed for the Player 3 podium?
Michael Clifford CY$12,250Michael, Michael, motorcycle. Should make for an interesting game of Net Poker -- coming up.
====================================================================== (clips from various episodes of Net Poker accompanied by the chorus line to "Winning It All" by The Outfield) Voice guy: VBS -- where the winners are. ======================================================================Scarlett: From CDM Enterprises, a division of Trax Productions, it's the card game where the high hand can bring a reward as high as CY$1,000,000. Celebrating ten years on VBS, this is Net Poker.

Scarlett: And now, here's our host, Doug Morris!
(Doug walks out from behind the video poker screen) (audience gives Doug standing ovation)
Doug: Oh -- wow. Thank you very much. Helloooooo, everybody, and welcome to the start of our 10th anniversary celebration of Net Poker. (audience cheers) Your support's kept it going.
Keep that applause going for the dealer who's helped deal out the cards and the high rewards -- Deborah JoAnn D.J. Hamilton.
(audience cheers) (D.J. walks out wearing a glittering gold dress)
D.J.: Thanks, Doug. Wow -- 10 years, huh? And I haven't aged a bit.
Doug: Har har, real funny. A champion retired undefeated with four straight wins and more than CY$300,000 to his credit. We've got three players who want to start a big winning streak of their own. Who's here?
D.J.: We welcome to Net Poker Erik Mokracek, Tony Peters and Michael Clifford.

Doug: Thanks, Deej. Players, welcome to our game. We're starting off with a new theme of questioning -- with a bit of a throwback to our first big hit here on the VBS network.

Doug: That's supposed to read "Star Plates" -- and it's a nod to our previous work on Net Bumper Stumpers -- specifically that Celebrity Two-Car Garage round.
I'll show you a pair of vanity license plates that convey messages. The two messages serve as clues to the identity of a famous person, past or present. For example...

Doug: ...these two plates read "current mayor" and "New York". And all you have to do is identify the famous person. In this case, the correct answer is Michael Bloomberg, who is currently the mayor of New York City.
Each time you correctly identify a famous person from a pair of vanity plates, you earn 10 points. But if you buzz in and give me a wrong answer, we take 10 points away.
Let's start each of you off with 10 points.

Doug: One more thing. In celebration of our tenth anniversary, all of the stars we're referencing with the pairs of plates have connections with the number 10 or the word ten. So keep that in mind as we show you the plates.
