Deuces Wild Poker

Doug: Welcome back. Tony Peters is our new champ with more than CY$16,000 in winnings. Now he has a chance at CY$50,000.

Tony, since this is your first time playing the bonus game, let me explain how this works.

Doug: Randomly hidden behind these numbers are ten outlaws. There's one in the top row, two in the second row, three in the third and four in the bottom row.

In a moment, you'll pick a number from each row. Each time you do not run into an outlaw, you win a deuce for your poker hand. As the name of our end game implies, deuces are wild -- meaning they can be used for anything when your hand is complete.

The more deuces you have, the better your odds of winning CY$20,000. However, if you avoid all ten outlaws and win four deuces, you'll win everything in the outlaw's jackpot which is currently valued at CY$50,000.

(audience cheers)

Doug: Best of luck, Tony. We're all with you now. Let's start at the top row. One outlaw to avoid. You're playing for the Deuce of Spades.

Tony: I'll start with 5.

Doug: He starts with 5. Good start?

(dings; audience applause)

Doug: Indeed it is.

Doug: Deej has just placed the Deuce of Spades in your hand. Now we play for the Deuce of Hearts. Two outlaws to avoid on the second row.

Tony: Hopefully -- lucky 7.

Doug: I hope 7's lucky for you. Is it lucky?

(dings; audience applause)

Doug: It is.

Doug: All right, Tony. Halfway home to CY$50,000. Now it's 50/50 time, as Bill Griffeth used to say on "What's News?" Three outlaws to avoid on the third row; the other three numbers are good. Pick a good number and we'll play for the jackpot in the bottom row.

Tony: 15.

Doug: Number 15. If there's no outlaw at 15, we're going for the jackpot in the last row. What's at 15?

(outlaw says "YEEEEE-hawwww!") (audience groans)

Doug: Rats. Well -- jackpot payoff will have to wait another day. Let's go for the Deuce of Diamonds, Tony. It's always the toughest to win since there are four outlaws in the bottom row. Don't run into an outlaw and we'll give you that Deuce of Diamonds.

Tony: I know it's the wrong card game, but 21.

Doug: Number 21. Does that give Tony the Deuce of Diamonds?

(outlaw says "YEEEEE-hawwww!") (audience groans)

Doug: 'Fraid you went bust on 21. Sorry about that. Let's take a look at where the other eight outlaws are.

(FF reveal sfx)

Doug: There they are. Now, Tony, in the event you'd run into at least one outlaw, we had you cut a deck of cards. First two cards from that deck come down the chute...

Doug: ...face down. You'll pick one card and the other will be discarded immediately. We'll repeat this process twice more and then your hand will be complete.

Doug: By the time you complete your hand, we hope you draw cards higher than a 9 of the same suit for CY$20,000.

(audience cheers)

Doug: So which card do we add to the two deuces you won -- the left or the right?

Tony: I'll take the right card.

Doug: The right card. Deej, what will be his first natural card?

(audience groans)

D.J.: The 9 of Spades.

Doug: Well, can't make a royal with a 9.

Doug: But, let's hope there's a 9 in the next pair and the pair thereafter. Two more cards coming on down.

Doug: And once again the choice -- left or right?

Tony: Boy, I'm terrible at picking blind cards; this is the second time I've struck out with a 9. With all that said, I'm going left this time.

Doug: Going with the left this time. Another 9, we hope?

D.J.: No -- but the Queen of Spades.

Doug: Well, you could complete the first straight flush in Net Poker's ten year history.

Doug: If you can draw the King, Jack or 10 of Spades, you'll win another CY$5000. Would be a real nice way to finish off your night. Last two cards for the round.

Doug: There they are. For a possible CY$5000, left or right?

Tony: (crosses fingers behind his back) Right card.

Doug: The right card. Can we give this man CY$5000?

(audience groans)

D.J.: Sorry -- 10 of *Hearts*.

Doug: Ahh, darn the luck. Well, we'll make one wild card a Jack and the other a King to complete a straight for CY$750.

(audience applause)

Doug: Beats getting kicked in the head any day. We add this to your prior winnings for a one-win total of...

(audience cheers)

Doug: ...CY$17,625. Now, you ran into two outlaws. At CY$5000 each, that means we add CY$10,000 to the outlaw's jackpot. If you make it back here, you'll play for CY$60,000.

(audience cheers) (smooth jazz theme plays)

Doug: Tony, we'll see you for the next show. We'll see the rest of you for the 24K Video Slot Challenge -- after this.
