24K Dice Challenge All right, the main game players have agreed to have their final round start after Thanksgiving. I'll be busy in the week ahead, Thanksgiving included. Hence the reason we're start an audience game now.
For this audience game, a special version of the 24K Dice Challenge. I'll explain what makes it special after the winner is declared in this qualifying round.
In the interest of spreading the wealth, this qualifying game is only open to those who didn't play the main game of this episode. The question...
On October 8, 2011, at 1:00pm Central, we watched a rerun of "Family Game Night" on The Hub. How much was the skateboard crazy cash card worth? Please respond in increments of $5 in cash.
(time passes)
And we're done. When a family member put that skateboard card in the machine, how much Monopoly money did that crazy cash machine spit out?

QUALIFYING ANSWER
$460

Four-sixty. Well, since it's a family show, it's a good thing the card's value wasn't decreased by 40 bucks. Who's the closest?
Dean Scungio $480Dean, Dean's becoming the rolling machine in a special 24K Dice Challenge -- after this.
====================================================================== (scenes from the "Friday the 13th" franchise appear on screen) Voice guy: For decades, Jason Voorhies proved to millions that 13 is an unlucky number. Now, one man is on a crusade to change your thinking about the number 13. How? Doug: Well -- with three dice, of course. Oh, and no blood, torture or -- anything like that. (two second pause) I hope.![]()
Voice guy: Join Doug Morris for the exciting numbers game Net Crag -- where 13 could pay off up to CY$1,000,000. Net Crag -- coming in 2013 -- only VBS. ======================================================================Doug: Welcome back to Net Poker. We'll resume our exciting main game in a moment. First, we want to give you a bit of a sneak preview of a new show that's coming to VBS next year. And a lucky member of our studio audience gets to be our guinea pig. Scarlett, who's that lucky player?
Scarlett: Dean Scungio, come on up! (audience cheers) It's your chance to win big on Net Poker.
Doug: Dean, great to see you. You're playing a special version of the 24K Dice Challenge -- but not with our regular poker dice. Instead, you're playing with the dice that will be part of our new show coming next year -- Net Crag.
Now it's based on a classic dice game that involves three standard dice. Best way for me to explain is to direct your attention to our big screen.

1 3 5 = 20 2 4 6 = 20 1 2 3 = 20 4 5 6 = 20 (same 3) = 25 (sum of 13) = 26 CRAG = 50

Doug: These are the ways you can earn at least 20 points with the dice. If you roll all three of the odd numbers, that's worth 20 points. If you roll all of the even numbers, that's also 20. We'll also give you 20 if you roll all three of the lowest numbers or all three of the highest numbers.
It doesn't matter what order they end up appearing -- just as long as they're all different and they're all low, all high, all odd or all even.
Now it gets better because if you roll three of the same number, that's 25 points.
If the dice total 13 in any combination, we'll double that sum and give you 26 points. However, if that combination of 13 includes a pair of a particular number, that is what we call a Crag. And a Crag for this game is worth 50 big points.
Doug: If you roll anything else, you score 1 point per pip.
Now if you score a total of at least 100 points, you'll win the bonus of CY$24,000 *and* -- what else, Scarlett?
Scarlett: Dean, it's a trip to New Orleans for the Super Bowl. (audience cheers) Tuesday before the big game, a limo will take you and a guest from VBS 63 here in Hattiesburg, Mississippi to New Orleans, Louisiana -- where you'll enjoy a six-night stay in a luxurious hotel in the French Quarter. You'll also receive two tickets to the NFL's championship matchup. The day after the final score is in, your limo will pick you up and take you back here to VBS 63.
This super prize package is worth CY$10,250 -- combined with the 24K makes this dice challenge worth -- CY$34,250.
Doug: Now, Dean, one more thing. We've replaced a 2 on one of the dice with a mean ol' gremlin. If you roll a gremlin, game's over and you win nothing. So after you score some points, I'll give you a chance to stop and take CY$100 per point in your total.
Let's spot you 15 points to start.
Doug: Now you may take CY$1500 right now and not even play -- or shake up those cubes in the cup and give 'em a roll. What'cha say?
(audience shouts suggestions)
Dean: My parents have been to New Orleans twice so far, and they love it. I'd like to go too. Let's roll!
Doug: NOLA's an awesome city. Good luck.
(Dean shakes up cup; pours dice onto table)

Doug: And you roll all three odd numbers for 20 more points. I'm ready to offer you CY$3500 to stop. Take the 3500 or roll all the dice again for more points?
(audience shouts suggestions)
Dean: I'm feeling good about this. Let's go again.
(Dean shakes up cup; pours dice onto table)

Doug: Sweet! Triple ones! Triple anything is worth 25 points. Dean, you're up to 60 points. A roll of Crag wins it all for you. I'll offer you CY$6000 to stop here.
(audience shouts suggestions)
Dean: I believe they say in New Orleans, "Laissez les bons temps rouler." That is, let the good times roll. I'm going again!
Doug: You can just smell those beignets at the Cafe Du Monde, can't ya? Give 'em roll. Let's get a Crag.
(Dean shakes up cup; pours dice onto table)

(lots of "woahs" from the crowd; some applaud)
Doug: Oh, close indeed. *Real* close to a Crag. But no gremlin came up. Dice total 12 -- so we add 12 points to your score. You're up to 72 points. A non-Crag roll of 13 won't get you to the goal of 100 points -- but you'd be *real* close?
I'll offer you CY$7200 to stop right here -- or you may roll "rouler" again.
(audience shouts suggestions)
Dean: Let's keep going!

Doug: Durn -- close to a *another* triple that time. A triple would've put you within spitting distance of victory. Thankfully, you rolled the two that wasn't replaced with the gremlin.
In any event, Dean, that's eight more points. You're up to 80. You're now in a position where any of the combinations worth at least 20 points will win it for you. In other words, all three of the lowest numbers are just as good as a Crag. But one gremlin brings misery.
I'll give you CY$8000 to stop.
Dean: I'm so close, Doug. I'm going for it.
(Dean shakes up cup; pours dice onto table)

Doug: CRAG! YOU DID IT!

Dean: Yeah, alright!
Doug: Two fours with a five. They total 13. You have a pair in that combination. That's 50 more points. You're over the top. You're going to New Orleans for the Super Bowl.
Dean: Thanks, Doug!
Doug: You're welcome. Friends, watch for Net Crag, the game where 13 can be your lucky number, in 2013. Back to our main game and a crucial Joker Poker round after this.
