5-Card Poker

DOM

BRIAN

D.J.: Ace of Hearts. Still one pair. Now it's over to Brian's hand.

Brian, your last card *needs* to be royalty in order to collect the 25 points. A King completes a straight. Queen or Jack would give you a better pair. The 10 would not help -- since Dom's Ace kicker would be better than your Queen kicker.

Deej, let's see that last card for Brian.

DOM

BRIAN

(scattered groans)

Doug: The 9 of Diamonds. It's not enough. Dom now leads 70 to 10.

(ding; audience applause)

Doug: Well, we had one major comeback in the last round. Will another happen here? We finish up this round with the Poker Run.

(motorcycle sfx)

Doug: In this round, players, we make no adjustments to the score. Questions in this Poker Run are worth 15 points each. But if one of the next two cards from the top of the deck is a face card, the value goes up to 20 points. If both are face cards, we play for 25 points a question.

Let's see our cards for the Poker Run.

D.J.: No help here. The 10 of Hearts and the Ace of Spades.

Doug: OK, we still play for 15 a question. Dom, you only need two right answers to reach Joker Poker. Brian, you'll need six right answers to play against the champ.

Got a lot of questions here as we start the Poker Run -- NOW!

Bill Murray starred in the movie...
\ "Stripes"
\ "Rain Man"
\ all of the above
\ none of the above

(Brian buzzes in)

Doug: Brian.

Brian: Stripes

(ding)Doug: That's right.

As of today's typing, a Massachusetts-based PBS station nationally produces...
\ "Wall $treet Week"
\ "Nova"
\ all of the above
\ none of the above

(Dom buzzes in)

Doug: Dom.

Dom: None of the above.

(buzz)

Doug: Sorry, Dom, "Nova" is produced by the PBS station in Boston. "Wall $treet Week" is no longer in production. Brian, next question is just for you.

Minnesota borders...
\ North Dakota
\ South Dakota
\ all of the above
\ none of the above

Brian: All of the above.

(ding)

Doug: That's right, Brian. You're up to 40. Dom still at 70. Both of you are back in for this.

A character named Vera was seen in at least one episode of the sitcom...
\ "Alice"
\ "Cheers"
\ all of the above
\ none of the above

(Brian buzzes in)

Doug: Brian.

Brian: "Cheers".

(buzz)

Doug: Sorry, it was "Alice" -- that Vera was a waitress.

Norm's wife Vera on "Cheers" was often talked about -- but an actress was never cast in the role and, thus, never seen.

Dom, next question's just for you.

Groundhogs are also called...
\ marmots
\ whistle pigs
\ all of the above
\ none of the above

Dom: None of the above.

\ Dale Earnhardt, Jr.'s, car in NASCAR
\ the number of blackbirds baked in a pie, according to a nursery rhyme
\ all of the above
\ none of the above

Brian: Number of blackbirds in a pie.

(ding)

Doug: That's right. Six fours equal four and twenty blackbirds. Junior's number's 88. Brian's one away from tying the score. Dom still needs two for the win.

In the Canadian province of Alberta, you'll find...
\ Regina
\ Victoria
\ all of the above
\ none of the above

(Dom buzzes in)

Doug: Dom.

Dom: None of the above.

(dings; audience applause)

Doug: Regarding Kelly Slater, *he* is a famous surfer.

Brian, you were making a comeback -- and then Dom scored the two right answers he needed to win the round. We hope you had fun on the show. We give you CY$10 a point for CY$550. And we have more prizes for you backstage. Nice hand for Brian Henegar.

(audience cheers)

Doug: Dom, chance to win CY$7500 is yours now. It's waiting for you behind one of the letters in "POKER". Which letter would you like?

Dom: Cash is King, therefore the K please.

Doug: Well, Lady Luck is Queen. And I hope she's on your side. What's K worth?

(rimshot; ca-ching)

Doug: K's worth 2K.

(smooth jazz theme plays)

Doug: When we come back, Andy comes back to defend his crown against Dom. A *lot* is at stake in Joker Poker. We'll tell you all about it when Net Poker continues.

(audience cheers)
