5-Card Poker

DEAN

Doug: ...and Andy gets the right, of course. Dean, a third 10, a second King or a second 9 would come in handy right about now. Deej, please flip Dean's last card over first.

(a few groans)

Doug: Lady in black's not gonna help. Andy's two Jacks are already better than 10s. Andy takes the lead.

(ding; audience applause)

Doug: Just to wrap it all up, what was on fifth street for Andy?

DEAN

Doug: Another Ace for two pair. All right, let's shift gears and start another Poker Run.

(motorcycle sfx)

Doug: Now in a two-player Poker Run, we don't make changes in the score. Each multiple choice question is worth 15 points -- but if one of the next cards is a face card, we up the ante to 20 points a question. If both are royalty, we play for 25 points a question.

Let's see our cards for the Poker Run.

D.J.: The Queen of Diamonds and the Ace of Hearts.

Doug: So 20 points a question in the run. That means Andy's three right answers away from the Joker Poker round. Dean needs four. Good luck everyone -- because the Poker Run starts -- NOW!

If Alfonso Ribeiro caught a chance to see the movie "21" on DVD, he'd be watching a movie...

(Andy buzzes in)

Doug: Andy.

Andy: About the MIT Blackjack team.

Doug: That's right. Kevin *Spacey* played their instructor.

Before criticizing NBA players and their "terrible" plays, Charles Barkley played at least one NBA game as a member of the...
\ Phoenix Suns
\ San Antonio Spurs

\ none of the above

(Andy buzzes in)

Doug: Andy again.

Andy: Phoenix Suns.

(ding)

Doug: I can only wish he were with the Spurs at some point in time. Before the Suns, Sir Charles spent eight seasons with the Philadelphia 76ers; after four years with the Suns came four with the Rockets.

Andy needs one more right to win the round. Dean needs four in a row.

Winona Ryder was in the cast of the movie...
\ "Mr. Deeds"
\ "Ed Wood"
\ all of the above
\ none of the above

(Dean buzzes in)

Doug: Dean to stay in business.

Dean: All of the above?

(buzz)

Doug: Sorry, just "Mr. Deeds". Andy, chance to win the round unopposed on this next question.

\ Conan O'Brien's last episode as host of "The Tonight Show" on NBC

Andy: All of the above.

(ding)

Doug: That's right and that's the Poker Run.

(dings; audience applause)

Doug: Andy, congratulations. You've reached the magic number of 100. We'll give you a chance to win CY$7500 shortly.

Dean, I know this is not the way you wanted your reign to end. I know you wanted to walk out of here a millionaire. While that's not going to happen, you are certainly living here with a nice piece of change.

In the first game you won, as I recall, you won those trips to New Mexico and Nevada. And of course, on the last show, you won that monster Outlaw's Jackpot of CY$130,000.

We say goodbye with an additional CY$10 per point in this round or CY$350 more. We also say goodbye with our great thanks, best wishes and winnings that total -- CY$190,350.

(audience cheers)

Doug: Well done, Dean Scungio.

Doug: Andy, as for you, we have CY$7500 hiding behind one of these letters in the word "POKER". Pick a letter and let's see what happens.

Andy: I'll go with K in the middle.

Doug: I remember that show. Oh, wait, that was "*Malcolm* in the Middle". Anyway, what's behind K?

(rimshot; ca-ching)

Doug: CY$1500 again? Oh, well -- lowest amount on the board.

(smooth jazz theme plays)

Doug: Matt won CY$1500 in the first round. *MUCH* more is waiting to be won in Joker Poker. A side pot of CY$40,000 can be won with just one pick. We'll get to that -- after this. (audience cheers)
