The New Net Poker is about to deal out more fun, more prizes and more cyber-cash. Before we start, some notes are in order...

\ Dean Scungio returns with one win and CY$44,300 in earnings, including trips to New Mexico and Nevada.

\ This is Game 45 -- so if you played in the main game of our 42nd, 43rd or 44th episode, please sit on your hands and let someone else in on the fun.

\ Our progressive cyber-cash prizes have grown to CY$115,000 for the bonus game and CY$35,000 in the Joker game played after we declare a winner of the main game.

...now let's get to qualifying. The two players closest to the right answer, high or low, play against Dean. The question...

On January 23, 2010, at 9:00am Central, we watched a GSN rerun of "Chain Reaction", hosted by Dylan Lane. This episode originally aired during its second season on the network. Including the bonus round, the winning women's team collected how much money in this episode? Please respond in hundreds of dollars.

(time passes)

All right, we're done. Let's see the right answer first.

QUALIFYING ANSWER
$2200

(ding)

Obviously not a win in the endgame. But 2200's not bad for a half hour's work. Who's the closest?

Michael Clifford $7500
Charlie Evans $7500

(Greed tie sfx)

Ah, a familiar face and a newcomer tie for closest. Well, the only matter is who's locked in 7500 first?

Michael Clifford $7500

All right, Michael's player 2 and Charlie's player 3. We'll deal out some Net Poker in a bit.

======================================================================

Scarlett Gray: "Cash for Klunks" (audience laughs) will not be seen
today -- so that we may give someone a chance to drive out in A
NEW CAR!

======================================================================

(smooth jazz theme plays) (zoom into one shot of champion)

Scarlett: This is our current champion, Dean Scungio. He has won one game and total of CY$44,300. (fade to three shot of players)

DEAN
MICHAEL
CHARLIE

Scarlett: Challenging him are Michael Clifford and Charlie Evans. Dean, Michael and Charlie, if any of you make a natural royal flush, you'll win CY$1,000,000 -- in the game of high hands and high rewards. From CDM Enterprises, a division of Trax Productions, this is The New Net Poker.

(audience cheers)Scarlett: And now, here's the star of our show, Doug Morris!

(Doug walks out from behind the video poker screen)

Doug: Thanks, Scarlett and helloooooooo, everybody. Welcome to Net Poker. In addition to the million, Dean or one of his challengers could win a CY$35,000 side pot in our Joker game -- and an Outlaw's Jackpot worth CY$115,000 in our Deuces Wild bonus game.

(audience cheers)

Doug: We have lots at stake -- so let's say hello to D.J. Hamilton and get this party started.

(audience cheers) (gong sounds) (Japanese music plays) (D.J. walks out wearing a white kimono)

(D.J. bows to Doug) (Doug tries to bow in reaction) (light laughter from the crowd)

Doug: OK, care to explain?

D.J.: The first part of our Video Poker round deals with the fine art of Japanese poetry.

GUESS WHO
WITH HAIKU

D.J.: Our theme is Guess Who with Haiku. A haiku has three lines of words. The first line totals five syllables, the next line will have seven syllables and the last line has five syllables.

Now with each of our haiku, the first two lines serve as clues to the identity of a famous person whose first and last name will total five syllables.

An example from an earlier show...

She helped slaves escape
with the Underground Railroad

Doug: And the correct answer here is Harriet Tubman. Keep in mind to be credited with a right answer, you must give us the first and last name.

Each time you chime in and correctly identify the person in the haiku, you earn 10 points. Buzz in with a wrong answer and we take 10 points away. After the fifth haiku, Deej will take us to the video screen for more points.

Right now, out of the kindness of our hearts, let's start each of you off with 10 points.

MICHAEL

Doug: Good luck to all and away we go.
