Episode 4 Game 2

None, one or two. How many cast members of the movie "The Running Man" went on to become governors of U.S. states?

(Eddie buzzes in)

Doug: Eddie.

Eddie: One.

Doug: Sorry, it's two. Arnold Schwarzenegger, the star of the movie, went on to become governor of California. Jesse Ventura was in that movie as well -- and he was elected governor of Minnesota about a dozen years after "The Running Man" debuted at a theater near you.

Will, free roll's yours again.

(Will rolls)

Doug: And there's the yo-leven you've been wanting. CY$1100 in the pot. Will, dare I ask, bank the dough or roll for another yo?

(a few laughs from the crowd) (audience shouts suggestions)

Will: YO!!!!!!!!!

(audience cheers)

Will: At this point I'd look to establish a point, so I'm going to keep going.

(Will rolls)

Doug: And a 1 and a 4 add CY$500 more to the pot. Bank the sweet 16 or try for more green?

(audience shouts suggestions)

Will: Let's keep going. How 'bout some double nickels.

(Will rolls)

Doug: Wow. Not double fives but double fours. Now, Will, here's your double decision. We could add CY$800 to the pot...

Doug: ...or you could go to the double four screen on the board. There could be more than CY$800 hiding there. "Lose loss" could be hiding there. Then again, there might be a paltry payoff or a bust waiting for you. What's your pleasure?

(audience shouts suggestions)

Will: Hard 8 has never been lucky for me. I'll take the 800.

(a lot of groans from the crowd)

Doug: All right, another eight bills go into the pot -- much to the dismay of the pilgrims. You guys, of course, are the Bob Schieffer types who believe your right to know overrides your right to exist.

(those who groaned laugh and cheer)

Doug: So, let's say -- Will *did* will himself over to the double decision board. What was at the double four screen?

(ding) (audience groans)

Doug: Ohhhh, hard 8 would've been great to you -- CY$2000 -- which would've brought the pot up to CY$3600. Instead, the pot is at CY$2400 as we shuffle the board.

(amounts are shuffled on the double decision board; after shuffling stops, the amounts are covered immediately with the doubles)

Doug: All right, want to roll again or bank CY$2400?

Will: You know what, Doug? I think I have a good number for the round, so I'll ring the register and take the cash.

Doug: Another CY$2400 into your bank.

(ding) (audience cheers)

Doug: Will's now up to CY$6900. Eddie, keep the faith. We have Round 6 and the catch-up round to go. Next question.

Jefferson, Blythe or Rodham. What was the maiden name of Secretary of State Hillary Clinton?

(Eddie buzzes in)

Doug: Eddie.

Eddie: Rodham.

Doug: That's right. (audience applause) Eddie, you're down CY$6900. But as I'm sure you made note of earlier, CY$2000 is on the double decision board. CY$3000 is also hiding there. "Lose loss" is there, too. Free roll, first.

(Eddie rolls)

Doug: Six and a five for your yo-leven. CY$1100 in the pot. I think I know the answer -- but I have to ask -- bank or roll again?

(audience shouts suggestions)

Eddie: Kinda have to go for broke here. Let's roll'em.

(Eddie rolls)

Doug: Woah boy. Snake eyes. Double decision time. We could add CY$200 to the pot -- or you could take whatever's hiding in the double 1 screen on the board.

If it's hiding cyber-cash, we add that much to the pot instead of CY$200. If there's a surprise, we follow its directions. If there's a bust, you'll have to make up CY$6900 with one roll of the dice in the catch-up round.

Again, I think I know your double decision -- but you have to tell me what you want to do.

(audience shouts suggestions)

Eddie: Been trying to get to the board all day. Let's see it!

Doug: Very well. Is the double 1 screen going to help Eddie go forward?

Doug: There's a bust -- which will not help in any situation.

Doug: Will still leads 6900 to nothing as we start the catch-up round. Eddie, for reasons noted earlier, the only roll that can help is a double. Anything short of a double means we say goodbye and Will goes to the Bonus Bonanza. We need to shuffle the double decision board.

(amounts are shuffled on the double decision board; after shuffling stops, the amounts are covered immediately with the doubles)

Doug: "Lose loss" is still there. We've also added "tie the leader", which will pay CY$6900 immediately. We've also attached an extra roll to two of the amounts of the board. When you're ready, Eddie, please take your catch-up roll.

Eddie: OK, Flutie to Phelan, Stewart to Westbrook. Here comes the Hail Mary...

(Eddie rolls)

(audience groans)

Doug: Intercepted by number 45, I'm afraid. A four and a five are not enough. Will wins it.

(dings; audience applause)

Doug: Will, CY$6900 for you -- and much more awaiting you in the Bonanza.

Eddie, this is the second loss for you -- meaning we must say farewell -- but not before we cut you a big check.

You do bank the CY$900 instantly since the catch-up roll added up to 9. We add that to your previous winnings.

This means you take home our great thanks, best wishes and a total of CY$78,950.

(audience cheers)

Doug: As we say farewell to Eddie, we welcome Will into the Bonus Bonanza -- after this.
