Doug: Welcome back to this clash of the champions on The Big Risk. Two tournament winners going against our current champ. Let's start this round by giving each player CY$500 more.

JAY
CY$1,650

ROBERT
CY$1,150

DEAN
CY$2,000

(ding)

Doug: Now we start this round with the True or False board. This time, we have a 3x3 slot grid on the board.

Doug: Kings, Queens and Jacks are in play this time. Now I'm going to spin the reels once. But before I do, each of you will pick a row or column to determine the value of three questions you'll play this round.

If you choose a row or column with three different symbols, such as the left column's current situation, each question will be worth CY$250.

If you choose a row or column with a pair of a particular symbol, such as the case with the the top and bottom rows as well the center and right columns, each question will be worth CY$500.

And if you choose a row or column with three of the same symbol, just like the middle row straight across with those ladies, each question will be worth CY$1000.

(audience cheers)

Doug: So, we'll go down the line and take selections. If more than one row or column is picked, that's fine. Jay, we start with you.

Jay: Left column.

Doug: Thank you. Robert?

Robert: I want the left column, Doug.

Doug: Two for the left column. Dean, do you make it unanimous?

Dean: The top row, please.

Doug: The decision is not unanimous. At least we don't have to stay in the bunker. (light laughter from the crowd and crew) Some of you do remember that show. Let's spin.

(Doug pulls handle on his podium; reels on True or False board spin)

Doug: Well, the center column was the go-to column today. Robert and Jay's questions will be worth CY$250 each. Dean, with two Jacks across the top, you play three CY$500 questions.

Robert, since you're currently in last place, these questions are yours.

True or false: "Steel Wheels" is an album by The Rolling Stones.

Robert: False

Doug: Oh, no, that's true. Next question.

True or false: The three "House Party" movies starred Kenan and Kel.

Robert: False

Doug: Kid 'n' Play. Last question.

True or false: The main campus of Pepperdine University is in Santa Barbara, California.

Robert: True

Doug: No, it's near Malibu. One right answer gets you 250.

ROBERT

DEAN

TOP
ROW

Doug: You'll be in third place going into Five-Card Risk -- but a few turns of the cards can really change the complexion of the game. Jay, these next three questions are yours.

True or false: The Flintstones and the Rubbles lived in the town of Bedrock.

Jay: True!

Doug: Indeed they did.

True or false: Dennis Miller wrote a book entitled, "I Rant, Therefore I Am".

Jay: I believe that's true also.

Doug: Two for two. Last question.

True or false: Daniel J. Travanti was a cast member of "CHiPs".

Jay: False I think.

Doug: "Hill Street Blues". A sweep for CY$750.

JAY
CY$2,450

ROBERT
CY$1,400

DEAN

(audience applause)

Doug: Champ enjoys the lead for now. But thanks to Dean's luckier pick, all he needs is one right answer to retake the lead. Dean, these CY$500 questions are for you.

True or false: "Semper fi" is the motto of the U.S. Navy.

Dean: False.

Doug: The Marines.

True or false: Palazzo pants fit tightly.

Dean: Um, false?

Doug: You're two for two. Last one for the sweep.

True or false: In Alabama, Birmingham is south of Mobile.

Dean: I can't remember, so I'll say true.

Doug: 'Fraid that's false. Mobile's on the Gulf Coast and Birmingham's in the central part of the state. But you got two and you have the lead.

JAY
CY$2,450

ROBERT
CY$1,400

DEAN
CY$3,000

(audience applause)

Doug: So Dean has an even three grand. Jay in second with 2450. Robert has 1400. But as I alluded to earlier, anyone's numbers can skyrocket as we go to Five-Card Risk. Deej, which Five-Card Risk game are we playing?

D.J.: Well, during the break, Dirty Harry randomly picked the theme for this round -- and it is...

(ding)

D.J.: ...Any Pair Loses. Now with Any Pair Loses, Harry also drew a card from a 13-card deck -- Ace through 2 with no repeats. And he drew...

(ding)

D.J.: ...a Queen. Now, behind the five spaces with dice faces, Harry, accordingly, placed the first five cards from a 54-card deck he shuffled -- including two Jokers.

In a moment, you'll place a bet on the card behind #1. If it's not a Queen, the payoff is 1-to-1.

Anytime we turn over a winning card, you have the option to freeze and protect your winnings -- or take a risk and try to double what you just doubled. Keep in mind the danger of running into a losing card increases with every risk. The moment there's a match in rank of card *anywhere* on the board, Five-Card Risk ends -- and if you risked, you lose all the net gains and post a net loss of the original wager.

Of course, watch out for the Joker. It's wild -- but the Joker always represent a losing card.

D.J.: Thanks, Deej. Minimum bet in this round is CY$500. You may take the big risk and put your entire score on the line. Bets still have to be in multiples of 50. The only losing cards are Queens and Jokers right now -- so good luck and place your bets.

DEAN

RISK
CY$1,000

Doug: OK, everyone's in. Jay's going minimum, Robert's bet half of what he had coming into Five-Card Risk. Dean betting a third of what he had. Let's turn around that first panel and see if it's a winner.

(dings; audience applause)

Doug: And it is. The 10 of Hearts.

JAY
CY$1,950

WIN!
CY$1,000
ROBERT
CY$700

WIN!
CY$1,400
DEAN
CY$2,000

WIN!
CY$2,000

Doug: Now it becomes a test of daring. You may freeze and collect your winnings for this round -- or risk and try to double what just doubled.

If you all risk and the next card is not a 6, 10 or Joker, Jay wins another CY$1000, Robert wins another CY$1400 and Dean wins another CY$2000.

So -- freeze or risk?

Doug: BTW, I've been alerted we had a malfunction with the scoreboard earlier -- and we gave Jay CY$50 too much. So his score is now correct. Also, don't forget, if anyone blitzes this Five-Card Risk and that player later wins the game, that champ goes for CY$1,000,000 in the bonus round.

(audience cheers)

Doug: Everyone's locked in with a risk. So let's have a look at the next card.
