Doug: And we're back on TBR. We're about to start Round 2 -- and we start by adding CY$500 to each player's score.

Doug: Now, at the end of Round 1, we promised a couple of new wrinkles. And the first wrinkle involves the True or False board -- which still resembles a 3x3 slot machine grid.

Doug: We have met the enemies -- and they are on the True or False board. (light laughter from the crowd) As always, each spin is assured to have at least one row or column with three different symbols, at least another row or column to have a pair of the same symbol and at least another row or column to have three of the same.
Now here's where the changes come in to play. We're only spinning the slots one time in an effort to get to Five-Card Risk faster. And trust me, you want to get to Five-Card Risk faster. Because if you can run the table in Five-Card Risk *and* later win the game, Go For The Gold will be worth up to CY$1,000,000.
Doug: But back to the slots. I'll ask for a row or column selection from each of you. And if two or all three of you choose the same row or column, that's fine. After you've made your picks, I'll spin. If your selected row or column has three different symbols, you play three questions worth CY$250. If your selection has a pair, you play three questions worth CY$500. And if your selection has three of a kind, you play three questions at CY$1000 a pop.
Michael, we'll start with you. Pick a row or column.
Michael: the bottom row
Doug: Very well. Brian, you're next. You may pick the bottom row or something else.
(time passes) (buzz buzz)
Doug: No choice in time -- so each of your questions will be worth CY$250 this round. Ian, your choice, please?
Ian: Center column

COLUMNDoug: Thank you very much. (rubs hands together) During our recent time off, I did well at the slot machines at the Bonus Island Casino in Gulfport. Let's see how I can do here.
(Doug pulls handle on his podium; reels on True or False board spin)

Doug: Well, Michael certainly liked that spin. Three goose eggs mean three questions at a grand each.
True or false: Peter Jennings anchored at least one ABC-TV newscast -- when he was in his 20s.
Michael: That's true.
Doug: In 1965, he anchored the news at age 25. One down, two to go.
True or false: Patsy Cline was nicknamed "the coal miner's daughter".
Michael: That's false.
Doug: Loretta Lynn. Last question
True or false: The lotus position is used in childbirth.
Michael: That's false.
Doug: Used in yoga. Three for three pays CY$3000.

IAN

Doug: Four grand to take to Five-Card Risk. Brian, over to you. Three questions at CY$250.
True or false: St. Andrews is a famous golf course in Ireland.
Brian: False. It is in Scotland
Doug: All over it and right. Next question.
True or false: The first James Bond movie was "Goldfinger".
Brian: False, it was "Dr. No".
Doug: Once again, all over it and right.
True or false: In at least one episode of "The Price is Right" hosted by Bob Barker, a fur coat has been offered as a prize.
Brian: True. In fact, they offered one on the first episode.
Doug: You know your stuff. CY$750 more for you.
BRIAN
CY$1,900
MICHAEL
CY$4,000
IAN
CY$1,350
Doug: You'll take CY$1900 to Five-Card Risk. Finally, Ian. You had the center column -- which means the value of each question is CY$500.
True or false: California became a state in 1901.
(time passes) (buzz buzz)
Doug: Time's up. It's false. Cali became a state in 1850.
True or false: Harry Truman coined the term "iron curtain".
(time passes) (buzz buzz)
Doug: Winston Churchill coined that term.
True or false: The Butkis Award is given in NFL football.
(light laughter from the crowd) (time passes) (buzz buzz)
Doug: Apparently we have sick minds in the audience, today. Right answer -- false. The award's given in the NCAA.
So, we have Michael forging into the lead with 4000, Brian's in second with 1900 and Ian's in third with 1350. Now to the moment we've been waiting for -- Five-Card Risk. D.J. fills us in on how this particular game works -- and how it could lead to CY$1,000,000.
D.J.: All right, during the break, Harry randomly drew the theme for Five-Card Risk -- and it is...
D.J.: ...In Between. That means the winning cards are 4s, Kings and everything in between. Aces, 2s and 3s are losing cards.
In a moment, you'll each place a bet on the first card. If it turns up a winner, the payoff is 1-to-1. You'll then have the option to freeze and protect your winnings -- or risk and try and double what you just doubled.
Remember, if at any time you take a risk on a card -- and the card is a loser, you post a net loss of the original wager. Also, beware of Jokers -- because, while they're wild, they also represent losing cards.
And there is good news. If you risk on all five cards and they all turn up winners, you'll achieve a blitz. If you blitz in this round and later win the game, Go For The Gold will be worth CY$1,000,000.
Doug: Thanks, Deej. The minimum bet in this round is CY$500, max is "all in". You still have to wager in CY$50 increments. A lot at stake -- so think it over and place your bets.
Doug: OK, we're all locked in. Let's see the opening bets in this round.

Doug: Michael finishes this round with the lead and CY$3000. Ian is in second with 1900. Brian only had 400. But anything can happen in our third round featuring the Final Risk. Two of these players are headed to The Big Risk round; the other will be on a ferry headed one way to the island of consolation prizes.
