Doug: Behind the letters in "TRUE" are four different amounts -- ranging from CY$200 to CY$500. Behind the letters in "FALSE" are numbers 1 through 5 -- again, without repeats.

Each of you will choose one letter from each word. Those selections determine the value of each question -- and how many questions you get to play. So, with lucky picks and right answers, one of you could earn up to CY$2500.

Matt, you're the champ. Before I turn you loose, congratulations on the big win on the last show. Tell the nice folks about yourself.

Matt: I'm Matt Tanga. I'm 16 years old and I live in Atlanta. I love basketball, netgames and the WWE.

Doug: Nice to have you back from the ATL. Pick a couple of letters for me please -- one from "TRUE" and one from "FALSE".

Matt: I will pick T and F.

Doug: OK, going with the first letter in each word. Behind the T we have.

(bing)

Doug: Hey now! (scattered cheers from the crowd) CY$500 a question. You'll play -- how many questions?

(bing)

Doug: Four. Chance to earn up to CY$2000.

True or false: As of today's typing, a man is serving as Speaker of the House of Representatives.

Matt: False?

Doug: Nancy Pelosi is a woman. Already up to CY$750. Next query.

True or false: Europe is the only continent without a desert.

Matt: True?

Doug: That's true. Third question.

True or false: The Secret Service is a branch of the FBI.

Matt: True?

Doug: Nope -- law enforcement branch of the Treasury Department. One more.

True or false: Uncle Walt was the nickname of Walt Disney.

Matt: TRUE

Doug: That's true and that's three out of four.

MATT
CY$1,750

MICHAEL
CY$250

IAN
CY$250

(audience applause)

Doug: CY$1750 to take to Dice Risk. First of your two challengers will take command of the board. Michael, before you do, please tell Mr. & Mrs. Internet and all the ships at sea a little something about you.

Michael: My name is Michael Clifford. I am from Marlton, New Jersey. I am currently unemployed. I like watching game shows and playing netgames. I just turned 26, so I'm ready to have a happy birthday when I win. Also, I would like to say hi to my favorite DOND model Jill Manas if she's watching us over the Internet. Hi Jill! You're my favorite!

(light laughter from the crowd)

Doug: I thought for sure in honor of your 26th birthday you'd change your allegiance to Lindsay Clubine.

Michael: Change my DOND model allegiance? You're out of your mind, Doug!

(audience laughs)

Doug: Just long enough to celebrate #26 with Lindsay. Then go back to Jill. But what do I know? Pick a couple of letters for me, please.

Michael: I will go with the U on the top row and the E on the bottom row.

Doug: Behind the U, we find...

(bing)

Doug: ...CY$300. Behind the E in "FALSE"...

(bing) (a few groans from the crowd)

Doug: ...well -- keep in mind this is only the first round. A lot of game follows. For now, Michael, here's your CY$300 question.

True or false: The phrase "Holy Toledo" relates to an Ohio city.

Michael: That's false.

Doug: Phrase relates to Toledo, Spain. It became an outstanding Christian cultural center in 1085. You're up to CY$550.

(audience applause)

Doug: Let's meet the third member of our group, Ian. Tell us a little about yourself.

Ian: I'm Ian Laudato. I'm originally from the Philippines and my friend is in the audience.

(Ian's friend in the audience waves)

Doug: Well, you have at least one rooting interest in the crowd. Pick a couple of letters for me, please.

Ian: I'll go with E and S.

Doug: Okie doke. Behind E...

(bing)

Doug: ...CY$250. And you get to play...

(bing) (scattered cheers from the crowd)

Doug: ...hey now! Five questions. So that means a chance to win up to CY$1250. A sweep won't give you the lead -- but you'll be real close. Here come your questions...

True or false: Alfred Nobel invented dynamite.

Ian: True.

Doug: Indeed he did. Next question.

True or false: Sudan was once known as Mongolia.

Ian: False.

Doug: Once known as Nubia. Two for two.

True or false: There's no rice in rice paper.

Ian: True!

Doug: Say that with confidence. That's right.

True or false: Cattle branding was invented in the West in the 1830s.

Ian: False.

Doug: Egyptians branded cattle 4000 years ago. Last one for the sweep.

True or false: AC/DC, as in the electrical term, stands for "alloy current".

Ian: False.

Doug: Alternating current. Clean sweep!

MATT
CY$1,750

MICHAEL
CY$550

IAN
CY$1,500

(audience cheers)

Doug: All right. We're about to play Dice Risk. Matt has CY$1750, Ian has 1500, Michael ran into a not-so-lucky number at the True or False board. That's why he has 550. But the night is still young -- as we go to Dice Risk. Deej?

D.J.: All right, thanks, Doug. Matt, since you're the champ, you get to set our dealer's point. We have cards ranked between 4 and 10 inclusive behind these numbers. There are no duplicates and no 7. Choose a number.

Matt: I will go with #4.

D.J.: Behind #4 we have...

(ding)

D.J.: ...a 9. That's the point for our dealer, Dirty Harry!

(audience boos as Dirty Harry walks out)

D.J.: Now, players, what you have to do is predict whether or not Harry will meet the point of 9 in seven rolls of the dice. If you think he'll roll a 9, bet on "PASS". If you think he'll fail and roll a 7 before he rolls a 9, bet on "DON'T PASS".

Correct wagers pay off at 1-to-1. An incorrect prediction deducts the original amount of the wager from your score. And if Harry doesn't roll a 9 or 7 after seven rolls, all bets result in a push.

Doug: OK, the minimum bet is CY$250. You may voluntarily take the big risk and bet "all in". All bets must be in multiples of CY$50. So for the first time in the game -- place your bets.

(players lock in bets)

MATT
CY$750

PASS
CY$1,000
MICHAEL
CY$00

PASS
CY$550
IAN
CY$1,250

DON'T PASS
CY$250

Doug: And we're locked in. Matt's betting a grand on "PASS", Michael's all in on "PASS" and Ian's going minimum on "DON'T PASS" Ian, you're the new kid on the block. I'm just curious -- why go minimum?

Ian: Because I am not a gambler.

Doug: To borrow a line from Drew Carey in an episode of "The Power of 10" -- "well you are now".

(light laughter from the crowd)

Doug: Even a minimum bet makes you a gambler. Let's see if the conservative bet turns out to be a wise decision. Deej?

D.J.: OK, Harry, the point is 9. Let's see what you do.

(DH rolls)

D.J.: And he starts with double 2's.

D.J.: Another 4. Five rolls to go.

D.J.: Now a 3.

D.J.: Close to passing -- but close to failing, too.

(bells ring)

D.J.: And that's Dice Risk. "DON'T PASS" -- winner.

Doug: That turn of events was good for only one player.

MATT
CY$750

LOSE

MICHAEL

IAN

("A Little Less Conversation" plays)

Doug: ...Ian enjoys a CY$1000 lead over the champ. Michael ends the round flat broke. But anything can happen in Round 2 -- featuring Five-Card Risk. The Big Risk comes back after these words of import.

(audience applause)
