Doug: Back on The Big Risk. The challengers in today's game advanced to The Big Risk round -- and it's a close score as we start the determining factor.
JOSEPH
CY$3,500RICK
CY$2,800
Doug: Joseph leads with CY$3500 -- Rick only CY$700 behind. Before we face The Big Risk board, we have some unfinished business with the category not chosen in Round 3, California's Governator.
You'll each play two of the questions in the category. Rick, since you're trailing, you'll play the first and third questions in the category's stack. Joseph, obviously, you'll tackle the second and fourth questions. Each right answer here pays CY$2000 -- so the scores can really go up before we tackle the blackjack.
Rick, here's the first question...
True or false: If you rented the movie "Pumping Iron", you'd find an image of Arnold Schwarzenneger on the box.
Rick: True
Doug: That is true and you have CY$2000 more. Joseph, your first question in the round.
True or false: Arnold Schwarzenneger is a native of Germany.
Joseph: That's false!
Doug: Austria. CY$2000 for Joseph. Back to Rick.
True or false: Arnold Schwarzenneger's wife left her job at Fox News to become California's first lady.
Rick: False
Doug: NBC News -- though nowadays she's been seen doing some fill-in work now and then on "Larry King Live" over on CNN. Joseph gets to wrap this up.
True or false: Arnold Schwarzenneger's gubernatorial predecessor was also a professional actor before entering politics.
Joseph: False?
Doug: Gray Davis was not a professional actor. Two grand for Joseph.

CY$6,800
Doug: However, Gray's hada couple of entertainment gigs since leaving office -- as a guest star on "Yes, Dear" and as a member of DiC Entertainment's board of directors.
Well, you've each become CY$4000 richer. But will you get any richer after The Big Risk round? Deej, tell us where we go from here.
D.J.: OK, Joseph and Rick, each of you must play one hand of single deck blackjack versus our dealer, Dirty Harry. Before any cards are dealt, you have to wager some or, perhaps, all of your cyber-money
At the start of the hand, Harry will deal out a total of four cards. The first and third cards from the top of the deck go to you -- the others go to Harry -- with *his* first card dealt face down.
To win the hand, you must come closer to 21 than Harry -- without busting. As you play, you may only hit or stand. If you stand, Harry must draw a card if his hand is worth less than 17 and must stand if his hand is worth more than 16 -- including a soft 17 or more.
Win the hand and your payoff is 1-to-1. But if you're dealt 21 on those first two cards, that's a blackjack for a 2-to-1 payoff -- unless Harry gets a blackjack, then it's a push.
Also, you'll win the hand automatically with a 1-to-1 payoff if you make a "five-card Charlie" hand worth 21 or less -- regardless of what Harry has.
D.J.: Now, your minimum bet is determined by picking a letter off of The Big Risk board. Behind eight of the letters, we have percentages between 10% and 75% inclusive. Behind the remaining two letters are The Big Risk cards.
If you draw any percentage card, your minimum bet is that much of a percentage of your current score. But if you draw one of The Big Risk cards, you must automatically bet "all in".
Doug: OK, Deej, thanks. Rick, you're still trailing. You'll play the blue cards. Joseph has the reds. Rick, pick a letter and that will determine your minimum bet.
Rick: Too bad that S isn't a dollar sign, but I'll take the S anyway.
Doug: Funny. If you remember the old TBR, the S was a dollar sign. But it's an S in the here and now -- and let's see what's behind that letter.
Doug: Woah. A big one -- 75%. Rick, you must wager at least 75% of your score. In this case, CY$5100. You may bet more -- but the minimum bet is CY$5100.
Rick: I believe in "Go big or go home". I'm all-in.

CY$6,800Doug: Taking the big risk voluntarily. OK, Harry, the bet's in. Let's see some cards.
(Dirty Harry deals one card face up to Rick, then one face down for himself)
Doug: Itty bitty deuce to start.
(Dirty Harry deals the next card face up to Rick)
Doug: Three of Spades -- well, we know you can't bust with your next card. Harry's next card is....
Doug: ...a good one. Queen of Clubs. Rick, I hate to ask a question I already know the answer to -- but would you like to stand on 5 or hit?
Rick: Gee, what a tough choice. Thinking, thinking, hit.
Doug: Hit. And I'm sure you're thinking, thinking of a 6. Next card, please.
Doug: Instead you get a 7. You're up to 12. Rick, if you do decide to hit and the next card's a 9, you're assured of at least a push.
Also keep in mind if you hit two more times and come up with 21 or less, you'll automatically win the hand regardless of what's in the hole for Dirty Harry.
If you bust or if Harry's hand's better than yours, you go down to zero. What do you want to do?
Rick: If you're going to go down, go down fighting. Hit.
Doug: I applaud your courage. If the next card's a 9, you're assured you won't go broke. If it's less than a 9, you'll have the hit/stand choice to make again. A 10 or face card leaves you with nothing. Next card, Harry.
Doug: What was in the hole for the house?
Doug: Ah, a 7. He had a made hand.

Doug: Rick, you're out of cyber-money -- but you're not out of the game. You'll have to hope Joseph wagers all in, loses his hand and then we'd go to a tie-breaker. Joseph, nine letters to choose from -- two of which force you to wager everything. Pick a letter.
Joseph: AHA! Let's take the "I" in "BIG," please!
Doug: If the I in "BIG" holds one of the big risk cards, you're going all in. Let's see it.
