Doug: Welcome back. Just a note of clarification for those playing the home game. We had a question about the "Star Trek" spinoff that starred Scott Bakula. The show went by two titles -- simply "Enterprise" in its first two seasons and "Star Trek: Enterprise" the rest of the way. Given our rules about how exact titles have to be given as a correct answer, either "Enterprise" title would've been acceptable.

Time to start Round 2 of The Big Risk. Let's sweeten the pot by adding CY$100 to each players' score.

DEAN
CY$300
JOHN
CY$250
JOSEPH
CY$400

Doug: That means Joseph leads with 400, Dean not far behind with 300 and John certainly in the hunt with 250.

Questions are now worth CY$100 each. Buzz in and miss -- and each of your opponents become CY$100 richer. Here we go...

What is the most prestigious decoration that can be received by an American?

(Joseph buzzes in)

Doug: Joseph.

Joseph: What i-- er, is it the Congressional Medal of Honor?

Doug: Yes it is.

DEAN
CY$300
JOHN
CY$250
JOSEPH
CY$500

(audience applause)

Doug: Please tell me we didn't add a "daily double" card to the deck for this round.

(light laughter from the crowd)

D.J.: Standard 52 plus two Jokers, to my knowledge.

Doug: Good.

Joseph: I'll take "Please Deck Me" for $1,600, Doug.

(more laughter)

Doug: (shakes head) Next query -- just for 100.

Who played the movie title role of "Erin Brockovich"?

(John buzzes in)

Doug: John.

John: Julia Roberts

Doug: That's right.

DEAN
CY$300
JOHN
CY$350
JOSEPH
CY$500

(audience applause)

Doug: John takes second place now. A little word play with this next question.

Name the only three standard English words that begin with the letters "dw".

(John buzzes in)

Doug: John again.

John: Dwarf, dwell, dwindle

Doug: Right, right, right. (audience applause) Now John's just 50 away from the leader. On to sports.

What was Muhammad Ali's birth name?

(Dean buzzes in)

Doug: Dean.

Dean: Cassius Clay.

Doug: That's right.

DEAN
CY$400
JOHN
CY$450
JOSEPH
CY$500

(audience applause)

Doug: CY$100 now separating first from third.

What is Batman's true identity?

(John buzzes in)

Doug: John.

John: Bruce Wayne.

Doug: Correct.

DEAN
CY$400
JOHN
CY$550
JOSEPH
CY$500

(audience applause)

Doug: John now leads. Time for one more.

What game of chance, involving a card with 25 numbers in a five-by-five grid, was invented in 1929?

(Joseph buzzes in)

Doug: Joseph.

Joseph: I'm hopin' that's Bingo.

Doug: That's right.

DEAN
CY$400
JOHN
CY$550
JOSEPH
CY$600

(audience applause) (bells ring)

Doug: And at the midway point, Joseph has 600, John with 550, Dean not far behind with 400. But these hundreds could become thousands with some luck and timing. D.J., looks like we have to avoid some picture cards in the Five-Card Risk.

D.J.: That's right, Doug. Theme for this risk is Any Face Loses.

During the break, someone other than me shuffled a deck of 54 playing cards -- including two Jokers. The top five cards were placed in accord behind the numbered spaces.

In a moment, you'll each place a bet on the first card. As long as it's not a King, Queen or Jack, the payoff is 1-to-1. You'll then have a chance to freeze and protect your winnings or risk and try to double what you just doubled.

At any time a face card is revealed, the round ends and all of your net gains are wiped out. You'll also post a net loss of your original wager. And don't forget, the Jokers may be wild -- but they also represent losing cards.

Doug: Minimum bet in this round is CY$100, max is all in. Again, please bet in multiples of CY$50. Good luck and place your bets.

(players lock in bets)

Doug: And we're all locked in. Wow. Dean and Joseph placing good sized bets. John going a smidge higher than the minimum bet. Let's see the first card.

(BB87 Gold Run loss sfx; audience groans)

Doug: On second thought, let's *not* see the first card. Jack of Hearts ends this matter quickly.

DEAN
CY$100
JOHN
CY$400
JOSEPH
CY$200

("A Little Less Conversation" plays)

Doug: Well, John, looks like that small bet was a wise move on your part. You're the leader at the end of this round with CY$400, Joseph in second with 200 and Dean with 100.

But when we up the ante and play the final risk, *anything* can happen. Only the top two players advance to the Lucky 7 Playoff. Find out which two when The Big Risk comes back.

(audience applause)
