Doug: OK, let's look at the scores. Eddie has 600, Jay has 450 and Erskine with 300. Time for Five-Card Risk and we're playing Any Pair Loses with D.J. and Harry.
D.J.: That's right, Doug. During the break, Dirty Harry drew a card from a special deck of 13 cards -- Ace through 2 with no duplicates. And he drew...
D.J.: ...a 7. Now, behind the five numbered spaces on the board are the top five cards of a 54-card deck, with two Jokers, Harry shuffled during the break.
In a moment, you'll place a bet in the hope the card behind number 1 isn't a 7. If it's not, your payoff is 1-to-1. You may then freeze and protect your winnings -- or risk and try and double what you just doubled.
As you play, keep in mind if you risk and we reveal a card that matches another in rank -- including the 7 -- your net gains are wiped out and you post a net loss of your original wager. Also, beware of Jokers -- they're always automatic losing cards.
Doug: Minimum bet in this round is 100 and you may go all-in. Still, you have to wager in multiples of 50. Again to recap, Eddie with 600, Jay with 450 and Erskine with 300. Good luck and place your bets.

CY$100Doug: And we have our wagers locked in. Erskine is betting 200, Eddie risking a big 400 and Jay going minimum with 100. Deej?
D.J.: OK, let's reveal the card behind number 1.
(winning bells; audience applause)
D.J.: Woah! The 6 of Spades. Just lower than a 7.
ERSKINE
CY$100EDDIE

CY$350WIN!
CY$400WIN!
CY$800WIN!
CY$200Doug: OK, winners all around. But when a winning card is revealed in Any Pair Loses, the danger increases. Because the 6 of Spades was turned over, that means losing cards in this round are now sevens and sixes -- as well as jokers.
Armed with that information, you may freeze or risk. If you all risk and the next card isn't a 7, 6 or Joker, we'll pay Erskine another 400, Eddie another 800 and Jay 200 more.

ERSKINE
CY$100EDDIE

CY$350WIN!
CY$800WIN!
CY$1,600WIN!
CY$400Doug: Well, here's the situation. If you decide to risk and the next card is not a 7, 6, 4 or Joker, Erskine wins another 800, we'll pay Eddie 1600 more and Jay will be richer by 400.
Freeze or risk?
