Doug: Thank you D.J. Welcome aboard, players. Your roads to riches have just been fueled with CY$50 each. We'll give you folks a chance to add to that with a series of questions.
Each time you buzz in with the right answer, we'll instantly pay you another CY$50. But be careful, my friend -- because it's three strikes and... uh... wrong show. (audience laughs) Seriously, if you chime in and give a wrong answer, each of your opponents scores CY$50. In the latter half of this round, you'll have a chance to double your score in Dice Risk. Right now, we start with these questions...
The lyrics to The Byrds' hit song "Turn, Turn, Turn" come from what book of the Bible?
Doug: Brian.
Brian: The Old Testament
Doug: Sorry -- we were looking for the book, not the testament. The lyrics could be found in the Old Testament -- where you'd also find the book of Ecclesiastes. So, John and Jason each win 50.

Doug: Hang in there, it's early. Next query for 50...
Name the only state capital ending in the letter "X".
Doug: John.
John: Phoenix
Doug: That's right.

Doug: Let's go to the magazine rack for this next question...
Which magazine was published first: Time or Newsweek?
Doug: John.
John: Tiime
Doug: Mmm... 50/50 shot and it's *right*!

Doug: From magazines, we go to food...
Althaiophobia is the fear of what vital part of s'mores?
Doug: Jason.
Jason: One in three shot: marshmallows?
Doug: Got it.

Doug: We've been calculating the stats on the last two questions -- and I'm beginning to wonder if this is The Big Risk or Net Wizard of Odds. (audience laughs) Anyway, next question...
Dion and the Belmonts' first single was "I Wonder Why". What is Dion's last name?
Doug: John.
John: DiMucchi
Doug: That's the one.

[NOTE FROM DOUG: As you've seen with two answers from John, we don't penalize for misspelling as long as its "close enough". DiMucci is actually the singer's last name.]
Doug: Our acting champ, John, leads by 100. Next question...
On November 2, 1959, this champion of the quiz show Twenty-One told a House panel that he had been given questions and answers in advance. Name this contestant.
Doug: Brian.
Brian: Charles Van Doren
Doug: Right for 50.

Doug: We have time for at least one more question...
In Monopoly, the "B&O" in B&O Railroad stands for what?
Doug: John.
John: Baltimore and Ohio
Doug: Correct for 50 more. (audience applause) (bells ring) Doug: A word to the wise -- never use the proper nouns "Baltimore" and "Ohio" in a sentence when talking to a Cleveland Browns fan. (audience laughs) Take it from someone who's married to a Brownies fan. Um, in any event, John's in the lead with 300, Jason with 150 and Brian in last with 100. Time to bet some or all of those scores with Dice Risk. D.J.'s over by the board with the 411.
D.J.: Thanks, Doug. And it is indeed time for Dice Risk. We start by setting the point for our dealer. John, you're the acting champion. So, you'll get to pick a number off the board and determine his point.
John: 2
D.J.: Behind number 2 we find...
D.J.: ...a big 10. And now, it's my -- uh -- pleasure? -- to introduce the players' common foe. Here's Dirty Harry.
(DH enters studio, wearing his blackjack dealer's uniform, to his usual chorus of boos)
Doug: Charming as ever and hip, too. NOT!
(audience laughs) (DH gives Doug a dirty look)
D.J.: Anyway, now that Dirty Harry's point has been established as 10, it's time to predict whether or not he'll match that point in seven dice rolls or less. If you think he'll accomplish matching the point, you want to bet on "PASS". If you think he'll roll a 7 before matching the point, bet on "DON'T PASS". Correct wagers pay off at 1-to-1. Wrong predictions deduct the original amount of the wager from your score
Doug: I should clarify Cindy does like the city of Baltimore; she just doesn't like the idea the original Brownies were snuffed from C-town to B-more. In any event, on The Big Risk, you must always bet in increments of CY$50. In this round, minimum bet is CY$50. So, good luck and place your bets.

CY$100Doug: OK, two players bet all in on don't pass and John missed the deadline. Rules say I flip a coin... (pulls out quarter) ...if it's heads, John will have to bet all 300 on "PASS"; if tails, he's all in on don't pass.
(Doug flips coin)
Doug: And it's tails. So...

CY$100Doug: ...John bets all 300 on "DON'T PASS". Well, Harry's hopeful for a 10; the rest of us aren't. Let's see what happens.

D.J.: I'm afraid he did. He matched his point. Sorry guys.

Doug: What a revolting way to start the game. Well, when we come back, we'll play the Five-Card Risk and try to put all this behind us. TBR's back on VBS ASAP.
