Doug: We now play a series of toss-up questions worth CY$50 each. Chime in with the right answer and you win 50. But, if you chime in and give me a wrong answer, each of your opponents will receive CY$50 by default. When the bell sounds, we'll give you a chance to double your score in this round with Dice Risk. But right now, let's improve on those scores with these questions.
Good luck and here we go...
The ghost of what color is not mentioned by name in the Buckner and Garcia hit "Pac-Man Fever"?
Doug: Kourtney.
Kourtney: Pinky
Doug: No. And we were looking for the color of the ghost. Blue's the answer -- Bashful, a.k.a. "Inky", is not referenced in the lyrics. Eddie and Gus, you each win 50.

And we go on to the next question.
In 1887, Thomas Edison received a patent for a device which produced moving pictures. Name the device.
Doug: Eddie.
Eddie: The film projector.
Doug: No, it's the kinetoscope. That means we give Kourtney and Gus each 50.

Doug: Third question coming up -- relating to sports.
The U.S. played host to the Olympic games for the first time -- in what city?
Doug: Eddie.
Eddie: Los Angeles
Doug: Great thought -- but it's actually St. Louis. They hosted the 1904 games. Kourtney and Gus again win 50 each.

Abraham Lincoln was the tallest President of the U.S. Name the shortest.
Doug: Eddie.
Eddie: James Monroe.
Doug: At 5'4" and barely 100 lbs., it's James Monroe.

What product originally gave us the famous words "always a bridesmaid, never a bride"?
Doug: Kourtney.
Kourtney: Listerine
Doug: Right for a three-way tie.

Doug: And we move on to a music question...
Name the first female group to reach number on the U.S. album charts.
Doug: Gus.
Gus: The Supremes?
Doug: Mmmm, just because you're standing next to Eddie, that doesn't mean you have to respond in question form. (audience laughs) Oh, and, BTW, you're right.

CY$200GUS
CY$250
(audience applause) (bells ring)
Doug: And with that, Gus has 250, Eddie has 200, Kourtney also has 200. Before we go any further, let's meet our players. Kourtney, tell the nice folks about yourself.
Kourtney: My name is Kourtney Wilson. I am a college student at Valdosta State University in Valdosta, Georgia. I have a love for game shows and have played several netgames.
Doug: Well, good luck in your studies and good luck here. Eddie, tell us the Eddie Timanus story in 10 simseconds or so.
Eddie: I'm a sportswriter for Us -- er -- a major national daily newspaper. I had the good fortune to appear on both Jeopardy and Millionaire, and the even better fortune of finding a girl who'd put up with me. I'm now married with a seven-month-old son.
Doug: And I think it was an A&E special where I saw your wife and child. Good luck in our game. And now, let's hear from our leader, Gus.
Gus: I live in Medina County, Ohio, and I enjoy game shows, doing stuff on the Internet, and doing stuff on the Internet pertaining to game shows. Aside from that, I'm a senior at Cloverleaf High School, and I'm on our school's county-champion Academic Challenge team.
Doug: Well, we also wish you well in your studies, on the academic challenge team and here on The Big Risk. Time now for the second half of the round and D.J. will tell us how ya play it.
D.J.: Thanks, Doug. Players, it's time for Dice Risk and here's how the board looks...
D.J.: ...we have six spaces on the board numbered 1 through 6. Behind each number is a card from a special deck of cards ranked 4 through 10 inclusive with no duplicates and without a 7. We'll get to why in a moment. But first, since Kourtney is our designated champion at Player 1, he gets to pick a number off the board. So, Kourtney, please make a selection.
Kourtney: 3
D.J.: And behind the third space we find...
D.J.: ...a 5. That's the dealer's point. Now, that we have a point, we need a dealer. Here he is, fully recovered from the CY$100,000 loss he suffered in the last Big Risk bonus game, here's Dirty Harry.
(Dirty Harry walks out to a chorus of boos)
Doug: Michael sends his best, BTW.
(audience laughs) (DH gives Doug a "don't start with me" look)
D.J.: Anyway, since the dealer's point is 5, Dirty Harry will roll a pair of dice until he matches the point, rolls a 7 or has rolled the dice seven times.
If you think Dirty Harry will match his point of 5 in seven rolls or less, you want to bet on "PASS". If you think he'll fail along the way and roll a 7, bet on "DON'T PASS".
Correct wagers pay off at 1-to-1 -- and if Harry doesn't roll a 5 or 7 after seven rolls, all bets result in a push.
Doug: Thanks, D.J. Players, the minimum bet is CY$50. You may bet all of your current score. Your wagers must be in increments of CY$50. Good luck and place your bets.
Eddie: (as he inputs his bet) Man, that Harry guy is creepy. :-)
Doug: He's just as creepy as our jokers.
(audience laughs) (DH gives Doug evil eye as he crosses his arms)
(time passes)
Doug: Waiting on Kourtney to get in there.
