Seems like we just started this new version of TBR -- and now we'll have to put it on pause after Game 3 due to my forthcoming nuptials.

Now, a champion retired undefeated with a big win in the bonus game on the last show. So, we're looking for three new players. Unless you played in Game 1 or Game 2, you're welcome to participate in qualifying.

The three players closest to the answer, high or low, get to play.

The question...

In February 2005, I had to answer the call -- to jury duty. How much money did I receive during my jury service. Please respond in terms of dollars and cents.

(time passes)

Well, like an unlucky TPiR contestant who didn't win an IUFB, I never got out of the jury pool. So, just for showing up, I took home...

(ding)

...$40 for each of the two days I had to report to the courthouse -- and they were nice to spring for gas. Not bad for keeping a couple of chairs warm.

But seriously, it was great seeing the honorable Judge Mike McPhail again. We know who to turn to in a few years when Cindy and I want to renew our wedding vows. :)

OK, let's see who'll be the acting champion...

Kourtney Wilson $88.88

...hey, great guess, Kourtney. Off by only a buck-68. Player 2 is...

Eddie Timanus $75.00

...the same Eddie Timanus who took Jeopardy! for about 80-grand-plus between five regular appearances and some tournaments. And rounding out the panel...

Gus Polly $43.21

...is Gus. For everyone else, thanks for playing. We'll do Game 4 after the wedding, the honeymoon and we start to write new chapters in our lives. TBR's next.

Voice guy: "Pat Croce: Moving in Circles" (audience laughs) will
not be seen at this time -- in order that we may bring you a game
that's made the rounds.

(various scenes of gaming tables, roulette wheels and playing cards appear in a fast-paced montage, a la the UK version of Gambit, as "A Little Less Conversation" plays)

The Ghost of Jay Stewart: And now a test of knowledge and a test of luck -- on the game where tens of thousands of cyber-dollars can be won or lost on the turn of a card. This is The Big Risk.

(audience applause)

TGoJS: And now, here's the star of our show, Doug Morris!

(Doug walks from behind The Big Risk board)

Doug: Ghost of Jay Stewart, I thank ya. Hellooooooooo, everybody and welcome to The All-New Big Risk. Last time we got together, our champion Michael Clifford banked CY$100,000 and won a brand new car. (audience cheers) As a result of his big win, he's retired undefeated -- but he'll return later in the season for The Big Risk's Quarter Million Playoff. In the meantime, we have three new players and here to welcome them is D.J. Hamilton.

(D.J. walks in wearing a pair of slacks, a white t-shirt and TBR leather jacket)

D.J.: Hi, Doug and hello everyone. Indeed, three new challengers -- all with their eyes on the big prize in The Big Risk round. They are Player 1, Kourtney Wilson; Player 2, Eddie Timanus; and Player 3, Gus Polly.
