MG Round 2 Question B
Doug: (grabs A; walks to panel) OK, since Erik's yet to score, all six stars get to play this one. And -- uh -- we promised we'd plug Will's show -- although this may not be the way he wanted us to plug it. Will Schmarder said, "I think it's going to take awhile to forget what happened during yesterday's taping of What's My Number? During a commercial break, some guy kept asking a girl, 'Hey, baby, what's *your* number?' Eventually, she had enough and << BLANKED >> him." (audience laughs and applauds) (think music plays)
Doug: OK, we're all set, Erik. Question again. Will Schmarder said, "I think it's going to take awhile to forget what happened during yesterday's taping of What's My Number? During a commercial break, some guy kept asking a girl, 'Hey, baby, what's *your* number?' Eventually, she had enough and << BLANKED >> him." Erik: PUNCHED (audience cheers) Doug: He said with authority. That's a good answer. Let's see how good it is with our panel -- starting with Troy. Troy: I know it's not THE ultimate funny number, but in the grand tradition of Maxwell Smart... she [ 86'ed ] him. (audience laughs) (buzz) Doug: Oh, that's actually clever. I like that. Chad, did you think the girl punched out the guy in Will's audience? Chad: I'm having a hard time coming up with anything extremely witty or creative, so let's just choose a good ol'... [SOCKED] Doug: Punched and socked will... (ding; audience applause) ...match! All right. Erik's on the board with 100. Matt, do you make it 200? Matt: Subtracted him. (audience laughs and applauds) (buzz) Doug: Another clever answer. Not a match though as we visit our master of the squares. Will Schmarder said, "I think it's going to take awhile to forget what happened during yesterday's taping of What's My Number? During a commercial break, some guy kept asking a girl, 'Hey, baby, what's *your* number?' Eventually, she had enough and << BLANKED >> him." Ryan: (card) +=======+ | 619'd | +=======+ (buzz) (audience laughs frantically and cheers for about 20 seconds) Doug: As I said earlier, 86 and subtract are clever answers. But I've gotta nominate 619 for clever answer of the year -- even in these opening days of 2012. Funny stuff, Ryan. *Really* funny stuff. Kevin, what can you do for a encore? Kevin: Did what I would have done... << KISSED >> her. (audience groans) (buzz) Doug: I still say Kevin and Will need to change places. OK, Will, *now's* the time to tell us what What's My Number? is really about. Will: Well, I have a great show called "What's My Number?", and it's a bit revolutionary in the game show world. There are all of these word games and trivia games, but nothing to really test number skills, so we have a fun number association game, and it's great for everyone to play along. Unfortunately that "other network" wasn't too enthused and gave us a premature axe, but we have been picked up in syndication, so check your local netgame listings. Doug: I must say in disclosure I've played What's My Number? I didn't do particularly well -- but it is a great test of math skills. Best of luck with it no matter how you move it forward. (audience applause) Doug: Now, tell us what *really* happened. Will: I still can't believe it, it was absolutely horrific. She added a bruise, multiplied his pain, and divided his dignity. But to get to the square root of the punishment, she subtracted some of his blood when she SOCKED him. (card) [SOCKED] (ding; audience applause) Doug: Another "close enough" match.
86'ED | SOCKED | SUBTRACTED
619'D | KISSED | SOCKEDErik's answer: PUNCHED
Doug: Well, Erik, good news and bad news. The good news is you're on the board. Bad news is it's not enough to pick first in the final round of Match Game. We'll find out who's moving on to Hollywood Squares -- after this. (audience applause; MG-HSH music plays)MG ROUND 3 BEGINS
