MG MG Round 2 Question A

 

 

Doug: And we're back.  Before we begin Round 2, let's meet our players
-- starting with our leader Shawn Wells.

Shawn: I am Shawn Wells.  When I'm not busy hosting Let's Make a Deal, 
I'm  studying for my associates degree in accounting.  In whatever 
spare time I have left, I coach my son's baseball and basketball teams.
 
Doug: Full and active schedule, I'm sure.  Best of luck in all your
pursuing.  Now let's say hello to David Barkow.

David: I have been active in my church, once providing dinner 
for my church's youth group.

Doug: Another full and active schedule.  Glad you both found the time
to hang out with us as we commence Round 2.

 

 

(Doug presses button revealing Round 2 questions on the toaster)

Doug: Shawn, you're leading.  That gives you the right to pick A or B.

Shawn: Let's stick with A.

Doug: Sticking with A, eh?  (grabs A) (fanfare sounds; audience cheers)

I'll explain out this works shortly.  First of all, Shawn...

 

Doug: ...you're going to try to match Chad, Brian, Ryan and Barry.
Those count toward your score.  In addition, Shawn *and* David have
a chance to win a bonus of CY$1000, which won't affect the score of
the game.

(Doug looks at card)

Doug: And Jerry was randomly chosen to be the designated star on 
the grand question.  Troy, if you'd like, you can play this for 
fun.  Here's the grand question.

Dumb Dora is *SO* dumb...

HOW DUMB IS SHE?!!?!!?!

...she doesn't understand the concept of speed dating.  
She thought someone else was going to set her up with << BLANK >> .

(a few laughs from the crowd) (think music plays) 

 

Doug: OK, everyone's set.  Shawn, since this was your question
originally, I'll take your answer first for the regular matches'
and bonus match consideration.  Then, David, I'll take yours for
your possible CY$1000 bonus.  Question again....

(scattered applause)

Doug: OK, a racer.  David, your answer.

David: The Road Runner.

(audience laughs and applauds)

Doug: Ahhh, like that.  OK, let's go ahead and see if Jerry's
answer earns one of our players that CY$1000 bonus.  Jerry,
lets see the card.

Jerry: (shakes head)  (card)  [ A CALENDAR ]

(buzz) (a few groans)

Doug: Different kind of dating and little, if any, speed.
OK, Troy, we let you play for giggles.  What did you think
of?

Troy: Can't think of anybody speedier --

[ THE FLASH ]

(audience laughs)

Troy: Which is also Doug's nickname, from what I hear. 

(more laughs)

Doug: It was in my much younger days.  But not anymore.  OK,
answers from here will count toward Shawn's score if they match.
Chad, starting with you.

Chad: I think she thought she'd be taking a ride in the car of a...

[RACE CAR DRIVER]

(ding; audience applause)

Doug: And just like that, Shawn's up to 300.  Brian, to you.

Brian: Once again, two directions, but neither one totally makes 
sense to me. I said in order to really "speed" date, you need...

Doug: Oh, now don't boo.  Brian was trying to get into Dumb Dora's
head.  And if he actually did, all he'd see is a sign that says

(audience laughs)

Doug: Down to Ryan now.  Dumb Dora is *SO* dumb, he doesn't 
understand the concept of speed dating.  She thought someone

Ryan: (card)

(audience laughs)

Doug: Junior, by the way, was my thought.  Barry, wrap this up for
us, please, before the natives get really restless.

Barry: Speed dating huh? I think Dora thought she was going to be 
set up with (card) Jeff Gordon.

(buzz) (same boo birds at it again)

Doug: You keep booin' like this and we're callin' security on ya.
