Hi everyone. Belated wishes for a Happy (Remainder of the) New Year. It's almost time for our first Net Match Game - Hollywood Squares Hour of 2011. Before we start, some notes... \ Matt Taylor returns with two wins and CY$69,000. He needs to either win the next game of Hollywood Squares or collect at least CY$31,000 in this episode to complete our field for the Champions' Special. \ This is Game 42. So if you played as a "civilian" in Game 39, 30 or 41 -- or are on retired status due to qualification in the Champions' Special -- please sit on your hands and let someone else play. Can't remember when you played? Just go to www.nmghsh.cjb.net or www.dougmorris.net/nmghsh and click on "Archives". \ Joining the usual suspects are Troy Diggs, Tom Hornikel, Ryan "Mr. V" Vickers and a newcomer -- cyberspace's big dealer from Net Let's Make A Deal, Shawn Wells. ...now it's qualifying time. The two players closest to the right answer, high or low, compete in Match Game with the winner advancing to Hollywood Squares. On November 16, 2010, at 4:00pm Central, we watched a rerun of "Cash Cab" on Discovery. In the three cab rides that aired in this episode, how much money was awarded to the passengers? (In this episode, the first four questions were worth $25 each, the next four $50 each and every question thereafter was worth $100; any red light challenge was worth $250. Please respond in increments of $25.) OK, quick breakdown on the games' results. First cab ride paid out $850 with the bonus question declined. The second ride ended in a strikeout; so obviously a goose egg there. Final cab ride saw $700 successfully double to $1400 on the bonus question. Add 'em up and you end up with...
(ding) ...that much. Who came the closest to that much? Dom Falance $2375 Hey, we always like to see this. A newcomer. Next closest? Andy Silikovitz $2525 Not a newcomer -- but someone who waited more than long enough. NMG-HSH comin' at ya.====================================================================== Glenn Bowman: "William Hung's Got Talent" (audience laughs) will not be seen at this time. Instead, let's see if the following game ends with a -- bang. ======================================================================

Doug MorrisDoug: Thanks, Glenn Bowman. Helloooooooo, everybody and welcome to another Net Match Game - Hollywood Squares Hour. Hello, stars.
Panel: (basically in unison) Hello, Ryan and Doug. Ryan: And hello to you at home. What a story for Matt Taylor. On the show before last, he had a chance at CY$50,000 in the Super Match -- and lost. On the last show, he had *another* chance at CY$50,000 -- and won. He'll be back later to defend his title in Hollywood Squares. Doug: Hard to imagine someone going for 50-grand twice in a row. But that's how it happened. Glad to see familiar faces on our panel to start our new year. Troy's back, Tom's back, Ryan Vickers is back -- and we have a newcomer -- Shawn Wells. We're ready for another round of fun. So let the games begin. (more cheers) (Ryan and Doug shake hands) (Ryan sits in the Morris chair on the panel) (Doug walks over to the Match Game desks)
Doug: Big welcome to the challengers -- Dom Falance and Andy Silikovitz. (more cheers) Doug: We'll talk later. But let's get the show on the road. As you know, the objective here to match as many...
Doug: ...of these members of the Ted Williams fan club as you can. (light laughter from the crowd) Doug: The baseball legend or the homeless voice artist -- take your pick. Each time you match a panelist, you earn CY$100. But if you max out and match everyone, we'll elevate your score to CY$1000. High scorer after three rounds advances to Hollywood Squares to face Matt. The high scorer there plays the Super Match -- which could pay off another CY$50,000.MG ROUND 1 BEGINS
