Net Poker and TBR remain on hiatus while we play the Net Definition
tournament of champions. But we can *easily* find the time to
play NMG-HSH. So let's start qualifying for a new episode.
But first, a few notes...

\ Robert McBride with two wins and CY$74,500. He'll either need
CY$25,500 in HS or outright victory in HS to reach the Champions'
special.

\ This is Game 39. So if you played as a "civilian" in Game 36, 37
or 38 -- or are on retired status due to qualification in the
Champions' Special -- please sit on your hands and let someone
else play. Can't remember when you played? Just go to
www.nmghsh.cjb.net or www.dougmorris.net/nmghsh and click on
"Archives".

\ Joining the usual suspects are Tammy Warner, Brian Moore, Will Morris
(no relation to Ryan or me) and, in her debut appearance, Carrie
Grosvenor. She and Chad Mosher, our center square, blog about
game shows on About.com.

....now for the qualifying question. The two players closest to the
right answer to this question, high or low, play Match Game. Winner
moves on to play against Robert in Hollywood Squares. Here's your
query.

On January 23, 2010, at 8:30am Central, we watched a GSN rerun of
"Whammy!: The All New Press Your Luck". This episode originally
aired during its first season on the network. In the first round,
the whammies managed to take how much in cash and prizes from the
players? Please respond to the nearest dollar.

(time passes)

Sorry for the delay. Got a little busy with business. Let's
check out how much those rascals stole.

(ding)

So if there were a big bank in play, it might've been up to 6060.
Who's the closest to the right answer?

William Smith	$2798

It's William Smith. Been awhile since he's been here. Next closest?

David Barkow	$2350

Bit more recent -- but he waited the mandatory period. We have our
panel and now the players. Game's starting in a bit.

Glenn Bowman: "Pink Lady, Jeff and a Pizza Place" (audience laughs)
will not be seen at this time -- so that we may bring you this
combination.

Glenn Bowman:
It's time for the...

(audience cheers)

...with our guests...

Carrie Grosvenor

Tammy Warner

Brian "The Cable
Guy" Moore

Will "He's Not Related
To Any Host" Morris

...plus our center square...
Chad Mosher

...and the stars of
the Net Match Game -
Hollywood Squares Hour...

Ryan Morris
and
Doug Morris

Doug: Thanks, Glenn Bowman. Helloooooooo, everybody and welcome to
another Net Match Game - Hollywood Squares Hour. Hello, stars.

Panel: (basically in unison) Hello, Ryan and Doug.

Ryan: Robert McBride remains our champion. We'll see him later in
Hollywood Squares. An outright win or collecting at least CY$25,500
puts him in the tourney.

Doug: Great to see Brian, Will and Tammy again. And also joining
us for the first time, Carrie Grosvenor. She and Chad do a great
job of blogging on About.com. Our challengers over there want to
do a great job on Match Game. So let the games begin!

(more cheers) (Ryan and Doug shake hands) (Ryan sits in the Morris
chair on the panel) (Doug walks over to the Match Game desks)

Doug: And let's keep up the cheers for William Smith and
David Barkow.

(more cheers)

Doug: We'll get acquainted later. But let's go ahead and start.
As you know, the objective here to match as many...

Doug: ...of the most interesting panelists in the world as you
possibly can. (light laughter from the crowd) Stay thirsty, friends.

Every time you match a panelist, you earn CY$100. But if you max
out and match everyone, we'll elevate your score to CY$1000. High
scorer after three rounds advances to Hollywood Squares to face
Robert, the aforementioned current champ. The high scorer there
plays the Super Match which can pay out CY$50,000.
