Dusty: Well, actually, it'd probably be something pretty simple. And I 
can't think of any optical device simpler than a magnifying glass. So
let's go with "magnifying glass."
 
Robert: I disagree.
 
Ryan: The magnifying glass was invented in the year 1250. Chad,
