Before I reveal the results in qualifying, a quick note. If you're
participating in this episode and going to be away to celebrate
Canada Day or the 4th of July weekend, please let me know. If you're
a Match Game panelist, I'll go ahead and give you the remainder of
the questions. Charlie did that for me when he hosted the Match
Game side -- so it's all good.

That said, let's repeat the question...

On May 16, 2008, at a few minutes before 10:00pm Central, we caught
the tail end of a second season rerun of "Whammy!: The All New Press
Your Luck". In cash and prizes, how much was in the Big Bank at the
end of this episode?

...now let's reveal the answer.

(ding)

Mercy, whammies must've been on a rampage. Who's the closest?

Matthew Brewer $36,400

Woah! Matthew. Great answer. Only off by 23. Too bad I can't
give you two showcases full of prizes. Next closest?

John Hines	$28,532

It's John. And this is what I always like. Two players who've
never played NMG-HSH before. Stand by -- the fun starts shortly.

Rich Jeffries: "Pop Star: Kajagoogoo" (audience laughs) will not be
seen at this time. In its place, we bring you a competition where
the players aren't (starts singing) too shy, hush hush, eye to eye.

(more laughs)

(NMG-HSH sign rises; MG-esque doors open; Ryan and Doug are
welcomed to an ecstatic crowd, walk down the stairs, shake hands)

Doug: Thanks, Rich. Helloooooooo, everybody and welcome to
another Net Match Game - Hollywood Squares Hour -- as we continue
our 10th anniversary celebration. Hello, stars.

Panel: (basically in unison) Hello, Ryan and Doug.

Ryan: On the last show, Michael Clifford won the championship --
but had a heartbreak in the Super Match where he missed out
on CY$50,000. But it's a new day and Michael or someone else
could win big tonight.

Doug: Indeed, we have two players over there waiting to advance
to Hollywood Squares. So let the games begin.

(audience cheers) (Ryan and Doug shake hands) (Ryan walks over
to "the Morris chair" among the panel) (Doug walks over to the
Match Game players' desks)

Doug: And keep that applause going for Matthew Brewer and
John Hines.

(audience cheers)

Doug: We'll get acquainted later. But let's dive right into the
game. Our Match Game challengers have never played NMG-HSH.
So I'd better explain how this works. Matthew and John, we'll
give you up to three chances to match as many...

Doug: ...of these prisoners of Trebekistan as you possibly can.

(light laughter from the crowd)

Doug: They're on work release. Each time you match a panelist,
you earn a triangle, CY$100 and a nice, fresh grape. (more
laughter) Match everyone and your total goes up to CY$1000.

The player who scores more matches after the third round wins the
game, another CY$500, and plays against Michael in Hollywood Squares
for tens of thousands more.
