All right, Net Poker's up and running, TBR's pilot just started. Now, we can start another NMG-HSH. Some notes before we do... \ David Barkow's our current champ with one win and CY$42,500. A CY$50,000 payoff in the Super Match will more than likely put him in our champions' special. \ Joining our panel are old friends Tom Hornikel and Frank (WOW!), Mark Sinsabaugh, "Game Show Man" Joe Van Ginkel and Dean "The Deals" Scungio. \ As always, if you've played in any of the last three episodes as a civilian, please sit on your hands and let someone else play. In our last episode, David plus the other two civilians had never played before. So we want to spread the virtual wealth as much as possible. ...now on to qualifying. The two people closest to the right answer, high or low, play Match Game. The winner there advances to Hollywood Squares to compete against David. The question... Maybe they aren't smarter than a fifth grader. What percentage of students who graduated high school in 2007 couldn't find the Pacific Ocean on a map? (time passes) And let's see the actual percentage of grads who need to give back the diplomas.
(ding) To borrow a line from a certain TPiR pricing game, "THAT'S TOO MUCH!" Well, let's see who's in it to win it. Who's the closest? Chad Mosher 29% Right on the money, Chad! Too bad we can't give you ten million. There'll be more to say about that later. Chad was a celebrity a few episodes ago -- but our records show he hasn't been on NMG-HSH as a civilian. So welcome to the other side, Chad. Next closest? Matt Taylor 28% Another newcomer. Our records show Matt's never been a civilan. Now, for a hard turn -- and this wouldn't be the first time this year I've had to make such a turn. As I trust you're aware by now, Merv Griffin died August 12th after a battle with prostate cancer. You know his contributions to the game show world -- most notably "Wheel" and "Jeopardy!" ClassicSquares.com notes Merv was a celebrity panelist on the original "Hollywood Squares" for a week in 1972 -- and another week in 1975. Our research cannot connect him to any version of "Match Game" (if there ever was, it would be most likely the '60s version...but that is one huge if...so unless we find anything for sure to the contrary, we won't comment further on this). We can only connect Merv to the original "Match Game - Hollywood Squares Hour" series by saying... (a) one of those legendary creations, "Wheel of Fortune", was on the same network as MG-HSH. (b) each of "Wheel's" first two daytime hosts, Chuck Woolery and Pat Sajak, appeared for at least one week on the MG-HSH panel -- albeit not at the same time (Chuck, of course, was representing "Scrabble" by this time). Of course, Merv was much more. He was a game show host in his own right, an actor, a singer, a talk show host and a business man. For his accomplishments to the game show world -- populated by fans who are in mourning -- we are dedicating this episode to Mervyn Edward Griffin, Jr. ====================================================================== (piano music plays) ======================================================================Rich:

and
dougMORRIS(NMG-HSH sign rises; MG-esque doors open; Ryan and Doug are welcomed to an ecstatic crowd, walk down the stairs, shake hands) Doug: Thanks, Rich and helloooooooo, everybody and welcome to another Net Match Game - Hollywood Squares Hour. Hello, stars.
Panel: (basically in unison) Hello, Ryan and Doug. Ryan: We crowned a new champion on the last show. He won more tha CY$40,000 and he's back for much more. Doug: Too bad he can't increase that 40-grand by the power of 10. (audience laughs) I say that because my buddy Ryan -- as opposed to the former football coach Buddy Ryan -- is hosting Net Power of 10 here on VBS. (audience cheers) Oh, yeah. Chance at a big CY$10,000,000. Frank: DOUBLE WOW! (audience laughs) Doug: Double wow is right, Frank. Ryan, I wish you all the luck in the world with it -- and if you ever need any assist, you know where to find me. But for now, let's play this game -- the Net Match Game - Hollywood Squares Hour. (audience cheers) (Ryan and Doug shake hands) (Ryan walks over to "the Morris chair" among the panel) (Doug walks over to the Match Game players' desks) Doug: And we're starting Match Game with Chad Mosher and Matt Taylor.
(audience cheers) Doug: A brief explanation of the rules of this part of the show. The object is to match as many...
Doug: ...of these members of the Net Power of 10 polling group as you possibly can. (light laughter from the crowd) Again, Ryan, if you need assistance, gimme a jingle. Each time you match a panelist, you win CY$100. Match everyone and your total goes up to CY$1000. The player who scores more matches after Round 3 wins the game, another CY$500, and plays against our champ in Hollywood Squares for tens of thousands more.MG ROUND 1 BEGINS
