MG round1questionA

Doug: (grabs A) Once again, everyone on the panel please put pen to
card on this...

There's been a sequel made to the board game Mouse Trap. It's
called Cruel and Unusual Punishment Mouse Trap. Instead of a net, you
get the mouse with a << BLANK >>.

(MG '7x cowbell think music plays)

Doug: Now, we were talking about "Hardball" earlier and... which
camera am I on? (floor director points to Camera 2) Oh, there you
are. A special plea to the folks at MSNBC "Hardball". Ya think
get on the stick and air the dang finals of the hot seat challenge?!?!
(audience cheers) Those of here are obviously rooting for Mike Klauss
and with school starting back up, I'm sure the winner would like his
or her prize money!! (more cheers)

Doug: OK, now that I'm done ranting and they're done writing, Rick,
let's get your answer to this...

There's been a sequel made to the board game Mouse Trap. It's

Rick: A block of cheese

(a few boos)

Doug: Block of cheese for cruel and unusual punishment? Ooo-kay.
Umm... well... let's just go on and compare answers starting again
with Tom. Cruel and Unusual Punishment Mouse Trap is using a what?

Tom K.: Sledge hammer

(buzz) (smattering of applause)

Doug: There ya go. That's cruel and unususal. Over to Jay.

Jay: Not so much unusual as it is cruel

(buzz) (audience laughs)

Doug: Get the idea now, Rick? We were looking for something that
represents the torture and pain department. Brian, what'cha got for
us?

Brian: The same thing it ended with on the novel A Tale of Two Cities...

[A GUILOTINE]

(buzz) (audience applause)

Doug: Now *that's* what I call getting a head in the game. (audience
boos) Oh, boo yourself! Let's visit Ryan again. There's been a sequel
made to the board game Mouse Trap. It's called Cruel and Unusual
Punishment Mouse Trap. Instead of a net, you get the mouse with a
block of cheese, according to Rick. What according to you?

Ryan: OK, if you've ever played Mouse Trap you know that the last part
of the trap is the net falling down a pole. So, the perfect replacement
would be a...

(buzz) (more applause)

Doug: 'Nuther head chopper. Nolan, what cruel and unusual punishment
are we dealing out?

Nolan: Oh my. Well, you would think that you'd use a jackhammer...but
I would think you'd use a CAT in that game.

(buzz)

Doug: Makes sense. And David, last chance for some cheese.

David: Only thing I could think of this time is a (flips card) ROPE

(buzz)

Doug: Perhaps to make a noose. Well, no scores that time.

SLEDGE HAMMER | LEG TRAP | GUILLOTINE
GUILLOTINE | CAT | ROPE

Rick's answer: BLOCK OF CHEESE

Doug: Round 1's in the books and we've got another one of those
pitcher's duels. Come back and see if we can score a few matches
after this.
