What gas in the blood of divers can cause the bends?

Matt: Oooh...Under Pressure (cue Queen riff).  (audience laughs)
Didn't Radiohead have an album about the bends?

Well, since you're breathing almost pure oxygen, and air is heavily
nitrogen, I think it's the adjustment to extra nitrogen that causes the
bends.

Rick: I'll agree

Ryan: It's nitrogen, Circle gets the square, the block and the Secret Square!
