MG Round 2 Question A

Doug: OK, Phil, your turn at bat in this round.

(Doug grabs A walks to the panel)

Doug: Jerry, again you lay out. The rest of the panel, please respond
to this...

Doug: (taking a long look at the card) Oh dear...

Melinda said, "Last night, my date with Doug Morris was so boring..."

Everyone else in unison (except for Frank since he only speaks a
handful of words): HOW BORING WAS IT?!?!?!!?

Doug: Gee, thanks for that vote of confidence. (audience laughs)
Anyway, getting back to the query, Melinda said, "Last night, my
date with Doug Morris was so boring, when I brought up the subject of
<< BLANK >>, he talked my ear off."

(MG '7x synth vamp think music plays)

Doug: And we're all ready. Phil, let's see how ya do...

Melinda said, "Last night, my date with Doug Morris was so boring,
when I brought up the subject of << BLANK >>, he talked my ear off."

Phil: Personally, I don't think this is a boring date topic :-),
but she got bored because the topic was NETGAMES

(audience applause)

Doug: Good thought indeed. Let's see how you do with the panel.
Tom and Frank?

Tom: Well, this is not particularly funny....

Frank: RIGHT!

Tom: Thanks, Frank. "NECKCAR....errrrrrrrrrrrr....NASCAR"

(buzz)

Doug: Thank you, Romey. :) (audience laughs) BTW, this question
was a last minute change. We had a question about the Game Show
Network program "Inquizition" in the stack. But since GSN replaced
"Inquizition" with "Ruckus" reruns, we decided to throw it out and
replace it... with... um... this. (audience laughs) Jay, bail
me out here.

Jay: Unless Melinda was a fan, maybe she thought it was boring
when you went on and on about

+-----------+

| GAMESHOWS |

which is a pretty boring thing if you're not a fan.

Doug: Oooh, game shows and net games... (buzz) do not match.
(audience boos) Now now, as defined on the Net Games mailing list
homepage, "A 'Net Game is an Internet adaptation of a TV Game Show."
Just like the miniseries "Roots" was adapted from the book of the same
name. Are a TV miniseries and book the same? (silence) That's what
I thought. (audience laughs) Kev?

Kevin: The first thing that popped into my head was:

+-------------------+
| NET GAMES |
+-------------------+

(ding; audience applause)

Doug: There's a match. Now Phil's catching up. Over to Ryan, now.

Ryan: I said...

+--------+
| NASCAR |
+--------+

(buzz)

Doug: I've put several ex-wives to sleep talking about NASCAR.
(audience laughs) And Mystic Girl, how did you fill in that
blank?

Mystic Girl: When you brought up the subject of net games,
you talked her ear off

(ding; audience applause)

Doug: Another match for Phil, let's recap...

NASCAR/RIGHT! | GAMESHOWS | NET GAMES
NASCAR | NET GAMES | (match in R1)

Doug: And we have a tie score after two complete rounds. When we come
back, we'll see if Phil or Rei sits in that O desk on Hollywood Squares.
Come back and see how this all turns out.

(audience applauds; MG-HSH music plays)
