QMP I: Finals Round 2

(vacation music plays)

Rich: Any player who makes a natural royal flush in this championship show of the Net Poker Quarter Million Playoff wins a trip for every season around the world.

(audience cheers)

Rich: We start with the hot summer nights and sun and fun in Acapulco, Mexico. Then in the fall, a fabulous vacation to beautiful Vancouver, British Columbia. In the winter, it's off to spectacular Zurich, Switzerland. And in the spring, an unforgettable visit to the city of romance -- Paris, France. This trip of a lifetime includes a six-night stay at a luxury hotel in each city -- compliments of Club Universe. And as an extra bonus -- another CY$100,000 to spend on souvenirs.

(more cheers)

Rich: And now, back to Doug Morris and the Net Poker Quarter Million Playoff.

Doug: Thanks, Rich. BTW, that bonus prize package will also apply if Dustin Riley or Robert McBride accomplish a natural royal flush *or* five of a kind. You'll see them play Joker Poker as we wrap up the main game we've been playing over the course of this mini-series. But that game's in the future. Let's concentrate on the present...

A.SILIKOVITZ
A.GELLER

Doug: We have a close game after one round of play. Andy Silikovitz leads by CY$500 over Andy Geller.

We'll resume our finals in a moment. But as is customary in our regular games, when a champion is on the verge of an undefeated championship, we give him or her a chance to say "hi" to friends and loved ones. We'll do that here and we'll start with our current leader, Andy Silikovitz.

Andy Silikovitz: I'd like to say hi to my mom Arlene and my dad Ron. Hello also to David Hammond and Michael Clifford (wish you were here)

(audience applause)

Doug: Note to David, this is a great place to hold a Net Top Card tourney. They'll comp your room and everything. As for Michael, we'll see him on the Quarter Million Playoff of our sister show, The Big Risk. Andy Geller, chance for you to send a shout out or two.

Andy Geller: I'd like to say hello to all our Game Show friends out there, and a special hello to all Mets fans. Maybe this year is our year.

(some Mets fans in the crowd applaud and cheer)

Andy Geller: I wanted to say that I am excited about Chain Reaction coming back to GSN soon, and yes it will be taped in NYC. It is nice to see Game Show production in NYC making a little comeback. I knew it would someday.

Doug: Even though it's on another network, I'm looking forward to Chain Reaction, too. It was a real fun show back in the '80s and the best of luck to everyone involved in that production.

OK, back to business. The players are building on the scores from the previous round. The questions are still worth CY$500 each -- until we get to the CY$750 blind-card question. High hand bonus remains CY$1250. Andy *Geller* cut the cards this time around. Let's see the first two cards from that deck.

D.J.: The 10 of Hearts and the Queen of Clubs.

Woody Harrelson was a cast member of the ...
\ sitcom Cheers
\ movie Wag The Dog
\ all of the above
\ none of the above

(Andy Geller buzzes in)

Doug: Andy Geller.

Andy Geller: I will say ALL of the Above

Doug: And the score's tied -- just like that. (audience applause) Which card?

Andy Geller: I will take the Queen of Clubs

Doug: Thought ya might...

ANDY SILIKOVITZ

ANDY GELLER

Doug: ...let's see two more cards.

D.J.: The 10 of Spades and the Jack of Spades.

Doug: Next question, which will break the tie, is all about music...

Musician Ringo Starr was...
\ a member of Wings
\ the first Beatle to become a grandfather
\ all of the above
\ none of the above

(Andy Silikovitz buzzes in)

Doug: Andy Silikovitz.

Andy Silikovitz: the first Beatle to become a grandfather

Doug: Right.

A.SILIKOVITZ
A.GELLER

(audience applause)

Doug: You're back in the lead and get to pick a card.

Andy Silikovitz: I want the 10.

Doug: Going for a pair...

ANDY SILIKOVITZ

ANDY GELLER

Doug: ...we'll see how the strategy works. Two more cards.

D.J.: The King of Clubs and the 9 of Hearts.

Doug: For the next query, we're going to the movies. That "meathead" Rob Reiner... (light laughter from the crowd) Remember, that's Archie Bunker's-slash-Carroll O'Connor's opinion, not mine.

That "meathead" Rob Reiner...
\ directed the movie Misery
\ acted in the movie Misery
\ all of the above
\ none of the above

(Andy Geller buzzes in)

Doug: Andy Geller

Andy Geller: I will say ... All of the above

Doug: Believe it or not -- right on. (audience applause) Tie ballgame. Which card?

Andy Geller: I will take the KING of Clubs.

Doug: And with that...

ANDY SILIKOVITZ

ANDY GELLER

Doug: ...you're 3/5 of the way toward a straight. Andy Silikovitz has a pair of 10s. Next two cards.

D.J.: The Jack of Diamonds and the King of Diamonds.

Doug: Well, we know you'll each build on one pair going into the blind card question. Let's see how much you know about '60s music.

"Billboard" magazine's list of 1963's #1 hits includes...
\ "If I Had A Hammer" by Trini Lopez
\ "Mockingbird" by Inez and Charlie Foxx
\ all of the above
\ none of the above

(Andy Silikovitz buzzes in)

Doug: Andy Silikovitz.

Andy Silikovitz: None of the above

Doug: That's it.

A.SILIKOVITZ
A.GELLER

(audience applause)

Doug: "If I Had A Hammer" topped at #3 -- "Mockingbird" peaked at #7. Which card?

Andy Silikovitz: King me!

Doug: And with that...

ANDY SILIKOVITZ

ANDY GELLER

Doug: ...Andy Silikovitz still has a pair of 10s. Andy Geller with a pair of Jacks. And now for the last two cards of the round...

Doug: ...we'll bump up the next question's price to CY$750. High hand, remember, is worth CY$1250. Here we go...

Bert and Ernie are characters from...
\ Miracle on 34th Street
\ Sesame Street
\ all of the above
\ none of the above

(Andy Geller buzzes in)

Doug: Andy Geller.

Andy Geller: I will say characters from ... Sesame Street

Doug: Correct.

A.SILIKOVITZ
A.GELLER

(audience applause)

Doug: There was a police officer named Bert and a cab driver named Ernie in It's A Wonderful Life. We have a virtual tie. Andy Geller, pick a card, please, and we'll see who'll build on the lead going into the important final round of the tournament.

Andy Geller: I will take the LEFT card

Doug: Left it is...

ANDY SILIKOVITZ

ANDY GELLER

Doug: ...D.J. has the cards in place. Let's see who wins CY$1250. Let's see Andy Silikovitz's last card first.

ANDY SILIKOVITZ

ANDY GELLER

Doug: Ace of Hearts. Doesn't help. Andy Geller already has two Jacks -- and that beats a pair of 10s for CY$1250 more.

A.SILIKOVITZ
A.GELLER

(audience applause)

Doug: Let's reveal the rest of Andy Geller's hand.

ANDY SILIKOVITZ

ANDY GELLER

Doug: Oh, would you look at that? (few groans and gasps from the crowd) If Andy G. picked the right blind card, Andy S. would be leading. (smooth jazz theme plays) After two rounds, Andy Geller has CY$4750 and Andy Silikovitz has CY$3250.

One round decides our grand champion -- and winner of CY$250,000. You don't want to go away.

(audience cheers) (various shots of nightlife around Tunica)
