QMP I: Finals Deuces Wild Poker

Doug: And welcome back, Andy Silikovitz ends this tournament as our runner-up. I know you wanted that quarter million -- but you could end up winning a total in this episode of an eighth of a million.

You just won CY$25,000 and you now have a chance at *much* more -- as much as CY$100,000.

(audience cheers)

Doug: I think you know this game by heart -- Deuces Wild Poker. Select one number from each row to win your Deuces. The closer you get to the bottom row, the more likely you'll run into an Outlaw and not win a Deuce in the process.

The more Deuces you win, the better your chances of winning *CY$40,000*. That's right, we're playing for double the stakes here in the championship show version of Deuces Wild Poker here in the tournament. The special bonus for four Deuces has also doubled in tournament play -- from CY$50,000 to CY$100,000.

(audience cheers)

Doug: Andy, you never hit a jackpot in your time with us -- now would be a good time to do it. First step is the top row. Which number is not hiding the lone outlaw?

Andy: 3

Doug: Number 3. Dale Earnhardt, Sr.'s number. Good for you?

(bing) (audience applause)

Doug: I'd say so.

Doug: One down, three to go. Pick a number from the second row, please. Two outlaws to avoid.

Andy: 7

Doug: Lucky 7. Lucky here?

(bing) (audience applause)

Doug: Indeed.

Doug: OK, you're halfway home to CY$100,000. Speaking of halfway, the odds are fifty-fifty you'll win another Deuce. Three outlaws to avoid. You're playing for the Deuce of Clubs here.

Andy: 16

Doug: If 16's sweet here, we're going for the 100-thou on the bottom. Another Deuce?

(outlaw says "YEEEEE-hawwww!") (audience groans)

Doug: Outlaw. Well, the jackpot prize is obviously out of play. Let's see if you can go three-for-four. Deuce of Diamonds at stake. Four outlaws to avoid.

Andy: 21

Doug: Twenty-one it is. How about another Deuce?

(outlaw says "YEEEEE-hawwww!")

Doug: I said, "How about another Deuce?" -- not, "How about another Outlaw?" Well, you've got two Deuces to play with. Let's reveal the other locations of the remaining outlaws.

(FF reveal sfx)

Doug: OK, Andy, during the break, we had you cut a deck of cards. The first two will come down the chute face down in a bit. I first want you to take a look at the video screen.

Doug: As promised, all the stakes are doubled. With two wild Deuces, the worst that could happen is that you win another CY$1000. But I truly hope you can draw cards higher than a 9 all of the same suit for a royal flush and CY$40,000. (audience cheers) May we have the first blind cards, please?

Doug: There they are. As you know, you'll choose one and the other we discard. We'll repeat this two more times and then your hand will be complete. Which card do we start with?

Doug: "Southpaw" meaning left. What's on the left, Deej?

D.J.: Great start! Ace of Spades.

(audience cheers)

Doug: Indeed, a fantastic beginning with the prettiest card in the deck.

Doug: Two more Spades higher than a 9 and it's 40-grand. Next cards are on the way.

Doug: OK, if there's another Spade up there and it keeps you in the running for 40,000, which card is it?

Andy: Let's try the right card this time.

Doug: The right card. Right move?

(audience cheers)

D.J.: Ten of Spades!

Doug: Oh, baby! Andy, CY$40,000 could be in the offing with the last pair.

Doug: You have your Ace, you have your 10, all you need is any face card of Spades for the 40-grand.

(more applause and woos)

Doug: Possible CY$40,000 decision here. Left or right?

Andy: How about a little French humor?

Doug: OK.

Andy: I don't want to sound gauche, but I'll pick the left card.

(laughter from the crowd)

Doug: The left card it is...
