QMP I: Semi-Final Game 2 Round 3

(vacation music plays) (Jess Harris, wearing a grass skirt and floral print bikini, dances the hula in front of a bunch of palm trees)

Rich: Tonight's eliminated semi-finalist will receive a cruise of the Hawaiian Islands.

(audience cheers) (video montage of Hawaii plays)

Rich: Islands of sugar canes, exotic flowers, coconuts and breath-taking sunsets await this evening's runner-up. The eliminated semi-finalist and a guest will fly round trip coach to Honolulu -- where they will board the S.S. Independence for an unforgettable seven-day cruise from one beautiful island of Hawaii to another. Compliments of American Hawaii Cruises.

(more cheers)

Rich: And now, back to Doug Morris and the Net Poker Quarter Million Playoff.

Doug: Thanks, Rich. And as we do return to this tournament semi-final game, I've gotta tell ya this has been a barn-burner...

Doug: ...going into the final round, we're tied at CY$4000. So the winner of this round will win the game.

This is the round where we double the stakes. Questions are now worth CY$1000 each, blind card question's worth CY$1500 and we pay CY$2500 to the player with the better hand. In the event our judge determines a player has an insurmountable lead, the game will end right there and then -- and the leading player will advance to the finals. Of course, before that happens, the winner from this game plays Deuces Wild Poker for CY$50,000.

(audience cheers)

Doug: I've also gotta say I'm jealous. Because as we noted earlier, these semi-finalists hail from South Florida. So either John or Andy will go from sunny Florida to sunny Hawaii. Seriously, guys, good luck because this round's for all the marbles. John cut the cards for this final round and let's see the first two cards.

D.J.: And a small beginning. The 10 of Spades and the 10 of Diamonds.

Doug: Well, look at it this way -- potential building blocks toward a royal flush. First question in the round for CY$1000...

In the card game Hearts,...
\ play begins with the player who has the 2 of Diamonds
\ the Queen of Hearts is worth 1 points.
\ all of the above
\ none of the above

(Andy buzzes in)

Doug: Andy.

Andy: I will say....... the Queen of Hearts is worth 1 point.

Doug: Correct.

JOHN
ANDY

(audience applause)

Doug: Play starts with the 2 of Clubs. Andy, which card?

Andy: I will take the 10 of Diamonds

JOHN

ANDY

Doug: All right. Let's see two more cards and see if they're any higher.

D.J.: Oh my. (a few groans from the crowd) The 9 of Clubs and the 9 of Hearts.

Doug: Well, we can't get any lower than that. Next question...

Actor Greg Kinnear appeared in the movie...
\ Mystery Men
\ You've Got Mail
\ all of the above
\ none of the above

(John buzzes in)

Doug: John.

John: All of the above.

Doug: That's it.

JOHN
ANDY

(audience applause)

Doug: Shame they never made Talk Soup: The Movie. (light laughter from the crowd) Tie ballgame again, John. Which lousy 9 ya want?

John: Guess I'll take the club 9, please.

Doug: If only we recognized a "same color" hand...

JOHN

ANDY

Doug: ...both of you would be 2/5 of the way there. Two more cards and hopefully they're better.

D.J.: Hey, some royalty! The King of Diamonds and the Queen of Spades.

Doug: And this next question's about politics...

Samuel F.B. Morse ran for mayor of New York City...
\ in the year 1826
\ in the year 1831
\ all of the above
\ none of the above

(Andy buzzes in)

Doug: Andy.

Andy: I am going to have to take a guess, and say..... NONE of the Above

Doug: Good guess, it's right.

JOHN
ANDY

(audience applause)

Doug: He ran in 1836 and 1841 and lost both times. Which card, Andy?

Andy: I will take the King of Diamonds

Doug: Thought ya might...

JOHN

ANDY

Doug: ...Andy now with a CY$1000 lead and a slight lead on the poker hands. Two more cards, please.

D.J.: Now we're talkin'. The Ace of Spades and the Ace of Hearts.

Doug: Well we know Andy will have the edge on the hands going into the blind card question. John, however, could tie the score with this question...

When making a list of hosts of music-based game shows, you must include...
\ James Narz
\ Ronald Pierce
\ all of the above
\ none of the above

(Andy buzzes in)

Doug: Andy.

Andy: I will say .... ALL of the Above.

Doug: That's right.

JOHN
ANDY

(audience applause)

Doug: James Narz is the real name of Tom Kennedy, who hosted Name That Tune; Ronald Pierce we all know better as Ron Ely, who hosted Face The Music. Which card, Andy?

Andy: I will take the ACE of Hearts

Doug: Again...

JOHN

ANDY

Doug: ...if only we recognized an "all color flush". But for real, Andy still has a slight lead in the hands department and a CY$2000 overall lead. As we bring in the final two cards...

Doug: ...John, you must chime in and answer correctly in order to have a chance to win. This is for CY$1500. Good luck, play carefully and here we go...

On The Rockford Files, Jim Rockford got assistance in solving cases from...
\ Rocky, a former cellmate
\ Angel, his father
\ all of the above
\ none of the above
