QMP I: Semi-Final Game 2 Deuces Wild Poker

Doug: We are back with Net Poker's Quarter Million Playoff. Andy won the game with CY$9500 and you have a chance to win much more. Here's how...

Doug: ...just as before, ten Outlaw cards randomly hidden. One at the top row, two in the second, three on the third and four on the bottom row. Each time you don't run into an Outlaw, you win a Deuce -- which is wild and can be used for anything when your poker hand's complete. The more Deuces you win, the better the odds of winning CY$20,000.

But if you manage to avoid all the Outlaws and win all four Deuces, forget playing poker because you will win our special jackpot prize of CY$50,000. (audience cheers)You never won a jackpot in your earlier appearances. Let's see you win one here. We'll start at the top row. Pick a number.

Andy: I will take 5.

Doug: Number 5. Good start?

(bing) (audience applause)

Doug: I'd say so.

Doug: D.J. placed the Deuce of Spades you just won on the board. We play now for the Deuce of Hearts on the second row. Two outlaws to avoid here.

Andy: I will take 8.

Doug: Numero ocho. Come on, let's win another Deuce.

(bing) (audience applause)

Doug: Two for two.

Doug: Win two more Deuces and you win the CY$50,000 jackpot. Third row has three Outlaws. Pick a number *not* housing one of those bad boys.

Andy: I will take 18.

Doug: Eighteen -- another good number?

(outlaw says "YEEEEE-hawwww!") (audience groans)

Doug: Oh, sorry about that. You don't win a Deuce on that line and thus the jackpot's out of play. Let's go after one more Deuce and see if you can better your chances of a CY$20,000 royal flush. Four outlaws to avoid on that last row. Avoid them to win the Deuce of Diamonds.

Andy: I will take 20.

Doug: Number 20. Does he take three Deuces into the next stage?

(outlaw says "YEEEEE-hawwww!") (audience groans)

Doug: Nope. Just two. We'll tell you where we go from here in a bit. First, let's reveal the rest of the locations of the remaining eight outlaws.

(FF reveal sfx)

Doug: And if you're playing the home game, you'll recall in Andy's earlier appearances, he always picked 5, 10, 18 and 22 in the endgame. He played a different strategy here. Probably a good thing you changed up the picks -- because using that old strategy would've yielded only one Deuce.

Well, you remember this part of the drill...

Doug: ...we had you cut a deck of cards during the break and the first two cards from the top of that deck just came down the chute. In a moment, you'll pick one of those cards and the other will be discarded immediately. We'll repeat the process with the next two pairs of cards.

Doug: By then, your hand will be complete and we hope you will have drawn cards higher than a 9 all of the same suit for a CY$20,000 pay day. (audience cheers) So where do we start -- left or right?

Andy: Lets start with the RIGHT card

Doug: The right card -- we'll see if that turns to be the right move over time. What's on the right, Deej?

D.J.: The Jack of Diamonds.

Doug: Good beginning.

Doug: Certainly an ingredient for the flush royale. Now that other card's gone and the next two cards are coming on down -- right about -- sometime -- (clears throat) that's your cue, Bubba!

(audience laughs)

Doug: Sheesh -- hard to get good help these days. Anyway, left or card from this new pair?

Andy: I will take the LEFT card this time.

Doug: The left. Let's see another Diamond higher than 9.

(audience groans)

D.J.: Sorry, Andy, 9 of Spades.

Doug: Well, best we can hope for is four of a kind...

Doug: ...another Jack or 9 means an extra CY$2000 in hand.

Doug: And it's amazing how much faster these final two cards of the bonus game came. (audience laughs) Good luck, Andy, and pick a card that will give you two-grand.

Andy: I will take the RIGHT card... let's hope I can make it something good !

Doug: Let's hope indeed. For CY$2000, another Jack or 9.

D.J.: King of Clubs.

Doug: Well, that means we'll make one Deuce a 10 and the other a Queen for a CY$750 straight...

(winning bells; audience applause)

Doug: Let's add it all up, Andy. CY$750 for the endgame, CY$9500 for the semi-final game plus all of your winnings from your earlier appearances means you'll be in the finals building on ...

Doug: ...CY$136,850. (audience cheers) Let's recap what's happened thus far -- as we look at the tournament bracket.

(full screen shot of bracket graphic)

Doug: We started with a battle of New Jersey in the 2-3 matchup. We just had the battle of South Florida. On the next show, it's the battle of the Andys for all the marbles. Andy Geller or Andy Silikovitz will win CY$250,000.

(back to a four-shot of Jess, Andy, Doug and D.J.)

Jess: Also, Dustin Riley plays against Robert McBride in their main game. One of them could go on to win CY$82,500.

D.J.: And ya never know what else will happen. Maybe Jess and I will dress as island girls.

(men in the audience hoot and holler over that idea)

Doug: Please don't. My wife's in the audience. I don't want to be embarrassed. (audience laughs) Folks, big championship show the next time we get together. For *this* Andy, Deej, Jess and all of us here in Tunica for the Quarter Million Playoff, I'm Doug Morris saying -- make it a great day and keep the faith.
