QMP I: Semi-Final Game 1 Deuces Wild Poker

Doug: And we're back with the Quarter Million Playoff of Net Poker. Andy Silikovitz is our winner and he's headed for the finals. Thus far, his cyber-cash winnings total a nice round CY$170,000.

(audience cheers)

Doug: Let's try to make that an even CY$220,000 in this round of Deuces Wild Poker. Let's take a look at the big screen.

Doug: Just like a regulation bonus game, we've randomly hidden a total of 10 outlaw cards. One is in the top row, two are in the second, three in the third and four on the bottom row.

As before, you'll pick one number from each row. Each time you do not draw an outlaw card, you win a Deuce -- which is wild and can be used for anything. The more Deuces you win, the better your chances of winning another CY$20,000.

However, if you win four Deuces and manage to avoid all ten outlaws, you win our special Outlaw's Jackpot prize located just above the video screen. That's right -- CY$50,000.

(audience cheers)

Doug: We're with you now, Andy. Let's start at the top row. Which number?

Andy: 1

Doug: Number 1. Good start?

(bing) (audience applause)

Doug: I'd say so.

Doug: D.J. puts the Deuce of Spades on your board. Next row down -- we play for the Deuce of Hearts. Two outlaws to avoid.

Andy: 12.

Doug: Number 12. Does he go two-for-two with 12?

(bing) (audience applause)

Doug: That's it.

Doug: You're halfway home to CY$50,000. Next row down has three outlaws and you're playing for the Deuce of Clubs.

Andy: 13

Doug: Lucky 13. Come on -- Deuce.

(outlaw says "YEEEEE-hawwww!") (audience groans)

Doug: Rats. You found an outlaw and as a result the jackpot's out of play. You still could still win CY$20,000 and you'll have a decent shot at it if you win the Deuce of Diamonds on the bottom row. Two numbers on that last row will do the trick. Pick one of those good numbers.

Andy: 24

Doug: OK, let's see if we can get him that last Deuce.

(bing) (audience applause)

Doug: There ya go.

Doug: Now, before we carry on, let's reveal where the other nine pesky outlaws were.

(FF reveal sfx)

Doug: There they were. Now, during the break, we had you cut the cards...

Doug: ...and there are the first two cards from the deck. As you know, you'll choose one and the other's discarded immediately. We'll repeat this process once more with the next pair.

Doug: By then, your hand will be complete and I hope you'll have made a royal flush by then. You have a decent shot at winning CY$20,000. (audience cheers) Which card will help you toward that 20-grand -- left or right?

Andy: Left was good last time so I'll choose left again

Doug: Going left. D.J., show us anything higher than a 9.

D.J.: I'll try...

D.J.: ...hey! Great start. (audience cheers)

Doug: Get another club higher than a 9 and you'll win CY$20,000.

Doug: of course, another Ace means CY$10,000. Next two cards are a comin'...

Doug: ...and there they are. Let's hope there's one card that will bring you another CY$20,000. Which card?

Andy: Let's switch to the right card. I hope it's the "right" one.

Doug: As do I...

for

another

twenty-

thousand

cyber-

royal

is

there

a

King,

Queen,

Jack

or

10

Clubs

on

the

right?

D.J.: Ten of Clubs! You did it!

(winning bells; audience applause)

Doug: Nice job. If memory serves, in your regular games you made two royal flushes in the endgame. You've done it again...

Doug: ...we add the CY$20,000 to your previous winnings of CY$170,000 -- that makes it easy for me to add. CY$190,000.

(more cheers) (smooth jazz theme plays)

Doug: A quick look at the tournament bracket before we go...

Doug: ...Andy, as you can see, you're one step closer to that CY$250,000 grand prize. The worst that could happen is that you win CY$25,000.

(D.J. walks over and stands next to Doug; Jess, still in her island girl outfit, walks over and stands next to Andy)

Doug: On the next show, our top seed, John Menjes, plays against our fourth seed, Andy Geller.

D.J.: And also Robert McBride and Matt Taylor play the elimination round of their main game.

Jess: Join us next time as we continue the Net Poker Quarter Million Playoff here in Tunica.

Doug: Until then, for *this* Andy, Deej, Jess and all of us on Net Poker, I'm Doug Morris. Make it a great day and keep the faith.
