Mega Playoff: Game 1 Round 2Rich: Any player who makes a natural royal flush in the Net Poker Mega Playoff wins a trip for every season around the world.
Rich: This fabulous trip starts in the winter in picturesque Zurich, Switzerland. Then in the spring, it's off to the city of romance -- Paris France. The summer brings sunshine in the day and fiestas at night in Acapulco, Mexico. Then in the fall, a fabulous vacation to beautiful Vancouver, British Columbia. This trip of a lifetime includes a six-night stay at a luxury hotel in each city -- compliments of Club Universe. And as an extra bonus -- another CY$100,000 to spend on souvenirs.
Rich: And now, back to Doug Morris and the Net Poker Mega Playoff.
Doug: Thanks, Rich. Before we start our second round of the game, let's catch up with tonight's semi-finalists -- and see what they've been up to since their last visits. Robert, we start with you. You're the top seed and, out of all semi-finalists, you had to wait for this tournament the longest. So, please tell us what you've been up to since you completed your undefeated reign.
Robert: I'm just starting my final semester at Virginia Commonwealth University majoring in Mass Communications/Broadcast Journalism. I am now currently in my third year doing my Game Show Kingdom blog.
(Director displays super...)
gskingdom.blogspot.com Doug: Ah, well good luck as you wrap up your studies. And the nice folks in the control room have put your blog's address on the screen. We'll certainly check out that site. Todd, your wait wasn't quite as long -- but a few changes in your life have occured since you were last with us.
Todd: Well, I graduated from the University of South Florida, got married and am now expecting my first child in May.
Doug: Well, congratulations on that. As we always say, treasure the Mrs. and the child-to-be. Before we resume play...
ROBERT TODD Doug: ...let's recap the scores. Todd leads CY$3000 to CY$1000. Our second round features a theme we never got around to in regular play. That's just how the luck of the draw works out. We're about to play that theme here. And here it is...

THE NUMBERS GAME
Doug: ...The Numbers Game. I'll give you a statement that starts with a number and continues with a series of words and initials. What you have to do is repeat the statement -- while determining what the initials stand for.
For example, if I gave you "24 H in a D", you would respond "24 Hours in a Day". If I said, "8 S on a S S", you'd say "8 sides on a stop sign."
Values remain the same this round as last. CY$500 per question -- 'til we get to the CY$750 blind card question. CY$1250 for high hand. Todd got to cut the cards this time. Let's see those first two cards. Let's see the first two cards.
D.J.: We start the round with the Queen of Spades and the Ace of Clubs.
Doug: And here's the first statement in Round 2. Remember, you have to repeat the statement while noting what the initials in the statement stand for. Here we go...
16 T in a C
Doug: Todd.
Todd: 16 tablespoons in a cup
Doug: That's right. (audience applause) Another CY$500 for you -- and another choice of card.
Todd: ace
Doug: No surprise there.
ROBERT
TODD
Doug: Robert gets a lady in black -- and we get two more cards.
D.J.: The King of Hearts and the 10 of Hearts.
Doug: Two hearts up for grabs -- with this next statement.
101 D in a W D M
Doug: Robert
Robert: 101 Dalmatians in a Walt Disney Movie
Doug: That's right.
ROBERT TODD Doug: By the way, if you had said "masterpiece" for the M word, that would've been acceptable, all other parts of the question being equal. That said, Robert, pick a card.
Robert: The King
Doug: Cowboy it is for Robert...
ROBERT
TODD
Doug: ...and a 10 for Todd. And we have a couple of more cards.
D.J.: The 10 of Diamonds and the King of Clubs.
Doug: Interesting. Each player will build on a pair -- or be 3/5 of the way toward a straight. Depends what happens after this next statement...
10,000 G in a T
Doug: Robert.
Robert: 10,000 grams in a tablespoon?
Doug: Nope, sorry. Todd, chance to steal.
(time passes) (buzz buzz)
Doug: If *either* of you got this right, I'd give you the million right now. The answer is 10,000 gauss in a tesla. The dictionary defines tesla as the derived unit of magnetic flux density or magnetic inductivity.
Personally I prefer their rendition of "Signs".
(Doug tosses question card) (audience laughs)
Doug: OK, same 10 and King up for grabs. New question.
75 D for L T in the G of M
Doug: Robert.
Robert: 75 Dollars for Luxury Tax in the Game of Monopoly!
Doug: Absolutely.
ROBERT TODD Doug: Better to land on that space than land on the next one -- especially if that next one has a hotel on it, if ya know what I mean. Which card, Robert?
Robert: The King.
Doug: Another cowboy for the top seeded player.
ROBERT
TODD
Doug: Another 10 for the fourth seed. We're one pair away from the blind card question. Let's take a look at the next cards.
D.J.: The 9 of Diamonds and the Queen of Clubs.
Doug: I think we know which card's going to be declined. But we carry on with this next question.
50 W to L your L in a P S S
Doug: Robert again.
Robert: 50 Ways to Leave Your Lover in a Paul Simon Song
Doug: Right again.
ROBERT TODD Doug: Robert's hot on the comeback trail. Which card?
Robert: Gotta have that Queen.
Doug: Another lady for Robert.
ROBERT
TODD
Doug: Todd gets a 9. Now, final two cards for the round, please.
Doug: Let's up the ante this time. CY$750. Then the player with the better hand collects CY$1250. Anything can still happen. Let's see what happens after this next statement.
10 Y in a D
Doug: Robert.
Robert: 10 Years in a Decade, Doug
Doug: Right again, Robert.
ROBERT TODD Doug: Well, we have a virtual tie. It is possible for Todd to cash in on 1250 for the high hand. So, Robert, choose carefully.
Robert: Left
Doug: Left card it shall be.
ROBERT
TODD
Doug: Now, let's check Todd's last card first. If it's a 10 or Ace, he still has a shot at the 1250. Otherwise, we know Robert will have the better hand in this round. Deej, please flip Todd's last card over.
ROBERT
TODD
Doug: It's a King. Won't help. Robert gets the 1250.
ROBERT TODD Doug: For grins, what was Robert's last card?
ROBERT
TODD
Doug: A 9. Todd was in a catch-22 there. (smooth jazz theme plays) Robert's in the lead by a grand -- heading in to the final round of this semi-final. When we come back, we'll double the stakes and find out who wins this game -- when you come back to Gulfport.
(audience cheers) (various crowd shots)
