Game 7 Round 3

DEAN
JAY

Doug: And we're back on Net Poker Live! Got a good close game here. Dean Scungio with CY$4500 and Jay Cross with CY$3500.

Players, third and final round. This is where the stakes double. CY$1000 per question, CY$1500 for the blind card question, CY$2500 for high hand. High score wins the game and the right to play Deuces Wild Deluxe for CY$2,000,000 or more. (audience applause)

Doug: Keep in mind if one of you scores more than CY$8000, the game will end right there and then -- even if we don't complete the poker hands. By then, there'd be no way for your opponent to catch up.

BACK WORDS

Doug: Last hand of 5-Card Poker deals with one of my favorites -- Back Words. I'll give you a clue -- then spell the answer one letter at a time -- backwards. The first player to signal and give me the right answer scores.

Be careful -- because if you give me a wrong answer, your opponent sees all but the first letter of the answer -- and gets a free guess. So good luck and play carefully. You may only buzz in when the last letter of the word is revealed. Here's your first clue.

He's been known to work with dummies.

ILOQUIST

(Jay buzzes in)

Doug: Jay?

Jay: Ventriloquist.

Doug: And just like that, we've got a tie game. (audience applause) Jay, guess what, it would help playing any kind of poker if we had cards. (audience laughs) This is Net Poker *Live*!, folks. What can I tell ya? Jay cut the deck, by the way, since he won the last round -- and gets to choose from...

Doug: ...the Ace and the Queen of Clubs. Again, royal flush bonus out of reach. Jay, which Club?

Jay: Gotta take that Ace

DEAN

JAY

Doug: Jay takes the Ace, Dean gets a queen. Next two cards, please -- before I forget. :)

(a few laughs from the crowd)

Doug: And we've got the Jack and King of Diamonds up for grabs. Here's your next clue. They've been known to occupy Wall Street.

ESTORS

(Jay buzzes in)

Doug: Jay?

Jay: Investors

Doug: You now lead by CY$1000. (audience applause) Which card?

Jay: The King please.

DEAN

JAY

Doug: OK, Jay with Ace-King. Dean's got Queen-Jack. We've got two more cards.

Dean: Nice.

Doug: Wow, if they don't come in pairs on suits, they pair up in rank. The 10 of Hearts and the 10 of Spades. On to our next clue. They're on the road again.

RISTS

(Dean buzzes in)

Doug: Dean.

Dean: Tourists?

(buzz)

Doug: Sorry, not right. Jay, you get to see all but the first letter.

OTORISTS

Jay: Motorists

Doug: That's the word.

DEAN
JAY

(audience applause)

Doug: Dean, tourists was a great guess -- but we were looking for motorists. Jay, which 10?

Jay: The heart please.

Doug: As in you "heart" the dealer we have on the main Net Poker. :)

(DH sneers) (a few laughs from the crowd)

DEAN

JAY

Doug: And -- before I get in trouble with Harry, two more cards, please.

Doug: Interesting. More hearts -- the Jack and the 9. Here's your next clue. It's always letter perfect.

ABET

(Dean buzzes in)

Doug: Dean?

Dean: Alphabet

Doug: That's right. (audience applause) Dean, you're now down by CY$1000. Which card?

Dean: I'll keep the Jack for the pair.

Doug: And as we go to the blind card...

DEAN

JAY

Doug: ...Dean has two Jacks. Jay, no pair and no straight draw. *Perhaps* the last two cards coming.

Doug: Now, let me explain, Dean and Jay. Jay still has CY$6500. Dean is up to CY$5500. There's a chance we'd finish at an 8000-8000 tie. If that ends up being the case, you'll each be allowed to discard one card from your hand -- and we'll then play another CY$1500 blind card question with another CY$2500 awarded to follow.

As for now, here's *this* blind card question for CY$1500. You'll find them in Egypt.

YPHICS

(Dean buzzes in)

Doug: Dean?

Dean: Hieroglyphics

Doug: That's right. (audience applause) Dean you're up to CY$7000, Jay still has CY$6500. High hand pays CY$2500. So it's coming down to the cards. Which card would you like?

Dean: Right card.

DEAN

JAY

Doug: All righty then. Cards are in place. Let's see who's tonight's winner. Jay, you'll need an Ace or a cowboy to stay in it -- or else Dean has won the game. Harry, what's Jay's last card?
