Anyway, David, time to take on Dirty Harry's Video Challenge. You've done this before -- but for those who haven't seen this endgame before, here's how we play it... Ready?
Doug: Every Ace through 9's on the video screen. Harry has three tasks for you. First is worth CY$10,000, the next CY$25,000 and the final task CY$50,000. Accompish all three missions and we'll throw in 15-grand more for CY$100,000 in total. (audience cheers): Let's turn to Harry for your first task.
David: Okay Harry, in your own words "Go ahead, make my day!"
(DH lifts card)
DON'T DRAW ANY RED JACK Doug: (laughs) OK, simple enough. No Jack of Hearts or Diamonds and you win CY$10,000. Pick a number.
David: 17
Doug: Number 17. What's there?
Doug: Winner winner, chicken dinner
David: Good start
Doug: Indeed it is. Now let's see your CY$25,000 task.
(DH lifts card)
DRAW ANY BLACK CARD David: 50 50 chance
Doug: Actually, odds are slightly better than 50/50 for this -- since there's one less red card on the board. A spade or club wins you CY$25,000 more.
David: Number 3
Doug: Number 3. Dale Earnhardt, Sr.'s number. He wore black. An omen?
Doug: YES!
David: Oh boy. Now I can make history
Doug: Indeed. Thirty-five-grand and a chance to go for the whole enchilada. First time on the live version of Net Poker someone's won CY$100,000. Harry, ya gotta like this kid.
(DH give the "yeah yeah" look.) (audience laughs)
David: Just remember what happens if he gets caught cheating (more laughs)
Doug: OK, let's get serious. For a total of CY$100,000, let's see that last task.
(DH lifts card)
DRAW THE QUEEN OF SPADES David: Oh (MG98 "censored" cuckoo)!
Doug: My sentiments exactly. Only one good one out of the 22 cards remaining. You can do it. Just pick the number.
(crowd chants "David David David")
David: Doug, i'm going to go the other way and hope the lady in back is #8
Doug: Number 8. Dale Junior's number. If the Queen of Spades is there, you're taking home CY$100,000 in total. If not, hey, 35-grand's not bad. Let's see it.
David: Rats
Doug: Yeah, considering Junior's car's red, I had a hunch there would be a red card there. Well, where was she?
Doug: Number 18 -- Bobby Labonte's number. Well, let's look at the positive side. You racked up 35-hundred cyber-bucks in the earlier game and 35-*thousand* here.
