(audience cheers)

Scarlett: And now, Tony and James try to stay in the game in 5-Card Poker. Back to Doug Morris and Net Poker.

Doug: I thank you, Scarlett. Welcome back, everyone. Time to go heads up in 5-Card Poker. Tonight, we're playing...

THE LAST WORD

Doug: ...The Last Word. In this theme, I'll give you a false statement. To make it true, just chime in and change the last word. An example from an earlier show.

On "Super Pay Cards", some other poker-based game show, players earned $100 for a full monty.

(a few laughs from the crowd)

Doug: Of course -- you buzz in and respond "house".

Each statement is worth 10 points and the right to choose one of two up cards for your poker hand. Remember, the card you decline automatically goes to your opponent.

After you each collect four cards, we'll play a blind card question for 15 points. High hand earns 25 points. Then we race to the goal of 100 points in another Poker Run.

We're starting from scratch in terms of scores. Since James finished second in the Poker Run, he won the right to cut the deck for this round. Let's see the first two cards from the top of the deck.

(a few groans from the crowd)

D.J.: And we start with the Queen of Hearts and the Jack of Hearts.

Doug: I *would* talk about the CY$1,000,000 bonus for making a royal flush -- but since you'll each get a face card of Hearts, it's a moot point already.

According to a well known proverb, "Desperate times call for desperate housewives."

(a few laughs from the crew) (James buzzes in)

Doug: An inside joke, folk. James.

James: Measures!

Doug: He says with enthusiasm -- and he's right.

TONY
JAMES

(ding; audience applause)

Doug: First 10 points of the round are yours -- and the choice of card.

James: In the words of Juice Newton, playing with the Queen of Hearts!

Doug: Juice's card is your card.

TONY

JAMES

Doug: Jack goes to the champ. I'll be impressed if one of the next cards reads "Angel of the Morning".

(a few laughs from the crowd)

D.J.: The Queen of Spades and the Angel, uh, Ace of Diamonds.

(scattered laughter)

Doug: Thanks a lot. On to our next statement.

Pope Francis was recently elected by the College of Charleston.

(James buzzes in)

Doug: James again.

James: Diocese.

Doug: Oh no. (buzz) The College of Cardinals makes those decisions. Sorry about that. That means Tony collects the 10 points. (ding) We're tied at 10 as a result -- and Tony, you get to pick a card.

Tony: Gotta go with the Queen to break up James's pair.

Doug: Stealing his lady.

TONY

JAMES

Doug: Make up your own Barney Stinson line. Each player on an early straight draw as we see two more cards.

D.J.: The King of Hearts and the Jack of Diamonds.

Doug: All right -- Tony might get a pair. James is still going to be on a straight draw. Let's see what happens after this.

"Sundown" and "Carefree Highway" are hit songs by Gordon Pepper.

(Tony buzzes in)

Doug: Tony.

Tony: (chuckling) Oh you guys. :D My answer is "Lightfoot".

Doug: And that's right.

TONY
JAMES

(ding; audience applause)

Doug: However, I hear Gordon Pepper is working on a cover version of "If You Could Read My Mind" -- (a few laughs from the crowd) -- with Chico Alexander's stirring acoustic guitar solo. Tony, which card?

Tony: Gimme the Jack.

Doug: You now have two Jacks.

TONY

JAMES

Doug: James is still on a straight draw. Let's see two more cards.

D.J.: The 10 of Diamonds and the King of Spades.

Doug: OK, this could get interesting. Next statement.

Larry Hagman was a cast member of the soap opera "The Edge of Glory".

(James buzzes in)

Doug: James.

James: Night.

Doug: Night is right.

(ding; audience applause)

Tony: Rest in peace, J.R.

Doug: Well said, Tony. Larry Hagman was born to play that role. We're tied at 20, James. Which card?

James: King of Spades

Doug: King's yours. With that...

TONY

JAMES

Doug: ...James has two Kings. Tony has two Jacks. Next two cards come face down.

Doug: Now let's up the ante. Value of this statement's 15 points. Then we'll see who collects 25 points for high hand before another Poker Run. Here's the blind card statement.

The first American woman to go into outer space was Sally Struthers.

(Tony buzzes in)

Doug: Tony.

Tony: Ride.

Doug: That's the lady.

TONY
JAMES

(ding; audience applause)

Doug: Sally Ride also passed away last year. May she rest in peace. Tony, someone's going to take the lead before the Poker Run. Pick a card and let's see who gets the 25 for high hand.

Tony: (clasps hands) Please let there be a Jack on the left card.

Doug: Well, we'll see if there is a Jack on the left.

TONY

JAMES

Doug: In fact, we're going to check your last card shortly. If there was a Jack, Queen or 10 on the left, you're still in contention for the extra 25. Otherwise James will have the lead going into the Poker Run. Deej, please flip over Tony's last card.
