Yes, we're going to commence Game 55 of Net Poker shortly. Before we start, some notes are in order.

\ Robert McBride returns with three straight wins and CY$222,000. If he wins this game, he'll play for CY$1,000,000 in Deuces Wild Poker.

\ The winner of this main game plays for CY$10,000 in the Joker's Bonus plus CY$55,000 in Deuces Wild. Robert will automatically win the aforementioned payoffs *plus* CY$25,000 if he wins this game.

\ Since this is our 55th episode, please sit this qualifying period out if you've played in our 52nd, 53rd or 54th main game.

And it's on to qualifying. The two players closest to the right answer, high or low, play against Robert. The question...

On November 25, 2011, at 1:00pm Central, we watched a rerun of "The Game of Life" on The Hub. How many points were scored by the two teams in this half-hour episode? Please respond in increments of 50 points.

(time passes)

And that's time. Apparently, not a lot of folks watch "The Game of Life" on The Hub. Lot of you guessed less than 2000 and the correct answer here was...

QUALIFYING ANSWER
10,150 POINTS

(ding)

...in five-digit land. The final score was 6350 to 3800. Looks like the two highest bids will be in it to play against Robert. Who's the closest?

John Menjes 8,250

It's John. You'll be player 2. And taking the player 3 position?

Evan Hatfield 1,850

It's Evan. Thanks to all for playing.

Scarlett Gray: "Vince Neil Presents America's Best Mötley Crüe"
(audience laughs) will not be seen at this time -- so that we may
bring you the following game endorsed by Dr. Feelgood.

======================================================================

(drum roll)

Scarlett Gray: This is our current champion, Robert McBride, a game show blogger from Virginia. With a broad range of knowledge and good luck, he has won CY$222,000.

(audience cheers)

Scarlett: If he can win tonight's game, he'll play for CY$1,000,000 -- on the card game where anyone can win a million for a natural royal flush...

(smooth jazz theme plays)

Scarlett: ...Net Poker!

(audience cheers)

From CDM Enterprises, a division of Trax Productions, here's our host, Doug Morris!

(Doug walks out from behind the video poker screen)

(audience cheers)

Scarlett: And now, here's our host, Doug Morris!

(Doug walks out from behind the video poker screen)

Doug: Thank you, Scarlett. Helloooooo, everybody and welcome to a potential big night here on Net Poker. Let's just get right to business. D.J. Hamilton's ready to introduce our players.

(audience cheers) (D.J. walks out wearing a glittering silver dress)

D.J.: Hey, everybody. You know the champ, Robert. Here to try to throw a bump or two in his road to a million are John Menjes and Evan Hatfield.

(audience cheers)

JOHN

Doug: Thank you, D.J. We'll see you later with our next phase of this first round. Robert, welcome back. John and Evan, welcome aboard.

CHANGE ONE LETTER

Doug: Let's get right to business with our first phase of Video Poker. It's a theme of questioning we call Change One Letter. We're going to start you off with tonight's base word -- and it is...

D
O
M
E

(ding)

Doug: ..."dome". Now all the words we're playing until the second phase are four-letter words -- that wouldn't be bleeped by censors.

(light laughter from the crowd)

Doug: In Change One Letter, I'll give you a clue to another four-letter word. To reach that new word, all you have to do is change one letter. For example, if I gave you the clue "coin worth ten cents", you can't just buzz in and say "dime", you have to tell me "change the O to an I".

D
I
M
E

(ding)

Doug: And there's your new correct answer. Now we've already spotted you 10 points each. Every time you buzz in and correctly change one letter to another, you earn another 10 points. But if you make a mistake, we have to take 10 points away. After the fifth clue, we'll go to the video screen for more points.
