Doug: Let's get right to business with our first phase of Video Poker. It's a theme of questioning we call Change One Letter. We're going to start you off with tonight's base word -- and it is...

Doug: ..."dome". Now all the words we're playing until the second phase are four-letter words -- that wouldn't be bleeped by censors.
(light laughter from the crowd)
Doug: In Change One Letter, I'll give you a clue to another four-letter word. To reach that new word, all you have to do is change one letter. For example, if I gave you the clue "coin worth ten cents", you can't just buzz in and say "dime", you have to tell me "change the O to an I".

Doug: And there's your new correct answer. Now we've already spotted you 10 points each. Every time you buzz in and correctly change one letter to another, you earn another 10 points. But if you make a mistake, we have to take 10 points away. After the fifth clue, we'll go to the video screen for more points.
