Hope 2012 is treating you well thus far. Game 52 of Net Poker is about to start. Before we get to our qualifying round some notes are in order...

\ Kevin Kolsen returns with one win and CY$18,450.

\ Some new rules are taking effect this episode. If a contestant wins four consecutive games, he or she now wins the following: the contents of the Outlaw's Jackpot, the contents of the Joker's Bonus and another CY$25,000 (minimum combined total payoff of CY$85,000). The champion's fourth straight trip to Deuces Wild Poker will be an attempt to win a bonus of CY$1,000,000 (no Outlaw's Jackpot in play; just the million).

\ Our Joker side game, where the Joker's Bonus *could* be won, now has a Spin2Win card. A lucky spin of the European Roulette wheel could pay off as much as CY$9000.

\ Trips, cars, etc., can now be exclusively won with the Mystery card in the Joker game. Also, the Mystery card could still offer a cyber-cash bonus or an added wrinkle to Deuces Wild Poker.

\ Updated rules can be found at http://www.dougmorris.net/poker/rules.htm

\ With this being Game 52, if you played in the main game of our 49th, 50th or 51st episode, please sit on your hands and let someone else in on the fun. Our recently retired champ will have a longer wait, per the rules.

Now that that's over, let's get to qualifyin'. The two players closest to the right answer, high or low, get to play.

To inaugurate our new Spin2Win feature on Net Poker, we spun its European Roulette wheel five times, made a note of the number the ball landed in each time -- and then added the five numbers together. What is our sum?

We can confirm the ball never landed in the 0 space -- and a European wheel does not have a 00 ("double zero") space. So our sum is higher than 4 and lower than 181.

(time passes)

OK, before we reveal the answer, let's take a look at the still images of each spin result. These were photographed right after the ball landed in a numbered slot.

14

And the first spin was 14 Red.

11

Next spin was 11 Black. So the running total is up to 25.

16

The third spin was 16 Red. Sum's at 41 right now.

21

Next to last spin's a 21 Red. We've got 62 for a sum.

8

And the last spin was 8 Black -- giving us a qualifying answer of...

Michael, Michael, motorcycles his way back to Net Poker. Got a new theme for ya'll to play shortly.

======================================================================

Scarlett Gray: "Keeping Up with the Card Sharks" (audience laughs)
will not be seen at this time -- so that we could deal with and to
some poker players.

======================================================================

(various scenes of casinos, poker tables and poker chips fade one after another as a smooth jazz theme plays)

Scarlett: From CDM Enterprises, a division of Trax Productions, it's the card game where the high hand can bring a reward as high as CY$1,000,000. This is Net Poker.

(audience cheers)

Scarlett: And now, here's our host, Doug Morris!

(Doug walks out from behind the video poker screen)

Doug: I thank you, Scarlett. Hellooooo, everybody and welcome to Net Poker. We've got three great players and as always a great dealer -- D.J. Hamilton.

(audience cheers) (D.J. walks out wearing a sparkling blue strapless dress)

D.J.: Hi, ya'll. Got a lot at stake tonight -- and three players ready to win it all. Welcome Michael Clifford, Robert McBride and our current champion. With one win and CY$18,450, here's Kevin Kolsen.

Doug: Thanks, Deej. We'll see you later for our next phase of Video Poker. Right now, gents, the first phase of Video Poker.

THE REBUS GAME

Doug: We're starting with The Rebus Game. We're going to show you a series of rebuses. Each rebus is a combination of pictures and letters that will lead to the identity of a person, place or thing. The solution could also be a title, phrase or quotation.

For example...

Doug: ...we have a picture of a net. We also have the letters "p" and "o" -- plus an apple *core*. Which gives us...? (points audience)

Most of audience: Net Poker!

Doug: Free doughnuts and coffee for everyone. (audience laughs and applauds) Each time you chime in with the right solution, you earn 10 points. After five rebuses, we'll play for more points by making poker hands on the big screen.

Let's start you off with 10 points each.
