24K Dice Challenge

Doug: OK, we're back and, according to the ol' Net Poker clock on the wall, we don't have time for the video slot challenge. So we'll play our 24K dice challenge. This is our version of Farkle -- where if you can successfully bank all six dice, you win a bonus of CY$24,000.

It all starts by locking in a bid from CY$1000 to CY$5000 in increments of CY$50. The player with the lowest unique bid wins. In layman's terms, if more than one of you bid CY$1000, those bids cancel each other out and take each other out of the running.

So, on your keypads, please lock in your bids.

(think music plays)

Doug: And that's time. Let's see the lowest bid.

TWO PEOPLE BID
CY$1000

(ding)

Doug: More than one bid a grand. Sorry about that. Next lowest?

THREE PEOPLE BID
CY$1050

(ding)

Doug: Durn. Bad luck there. Well. How about the next closest?

MATT TAYLOR
CY$1100

(ding)

Doug: Matt Taylor, come on up.

(audience cheers) (smooth jazz theme plays)

(Net Poker's dice table at center of the stage rises) (D.J. walks out with a clear plastic cup with the tie-breaker dice)

(music fades)

Doug: Welcome, Matt. First, let's put the CY$1100 you bid on the scoreboard.

(ding)

Doug: Now, in a moment, you'll be rolling our dice -- where the number 1 through 6 have been replaced with Ace through 9 respectively.

As you can see, you're looking for triples, Aces and Kings. For each Ace you bank, you win CY$500; each King you bank is worth CY$200.

A three of anything will net you CY$2000. Three Aces mean CY$5000.

Plus on this first roll only, roll an Ace through 9 or three pairs -- and you win the game automatically.

If you can bank all six dice -- either all at once or gradually -- you keep all your cyber-money plus the bonus of CY$24,000.

(audience cheers)

Doug: But be careful. If you roll a combination that does not pay, you lose everything.

With that said, if you're feeling a bad roll right off the bat, you can take your CY$1100 and quit -- or give these dice a roll.

(audience shouts suggestions)

Matt: I'll roll em.

Doug: All right, shake 'em up and dump 'em all on the table.

(Matt shakes and rolls...)

Doug: And you've got an Ace and a King. Now, you may bank the Ace for CY$500, the King for CY$200 or both for CY$700. What's your pleasure?

(audience shouts suggestions)

Matt: I'll bank the Ace and roll.

Doug: Very well. Deej will take that Ace off to the side.

(ding)

Doug: You're now gambling CY$1600 on the next roll. An Ace, King and a triple of anything would hit the spot right about now.

(Matt shakes and rolls...)

Doug: And -- almost seems we've been through this before -- just with one less cube. Bank the Ace for 500, the King for CY$200 or both for CY$700?

(audience shouts suggestions)

Matt: The Ace again and roll it.

Doug: Very well. Deej takes the Ace off your hands.

(ding)

Doug: We put another five bills in your hands. You may roll again.

(Matt shakes and rolls...)

(woahs and groans from the crowd)

Doug: Woah, indeed. You *nearly* won it. Matt, the 10, obviously, is worthless. You have to bank at least one of the others. Tell me which dice you're banking.

Matt: Both Aces sir.

Doug: Daring move if you're looking to roll again. Two Aces and another CY$1000 are yours.

(ding)

Doug: Up to CY$3100. Are you stopping here -- or rolling the remaining two dice?

Matt: Let's keep on going.

Doug: Wow. Let's hope both of these are higher than a Queen.

(Matt shakes and rolls...)

(strike buzzer; audience groans; BB87 loss cue)

Doug: Ohhhh, no King, no Ace -- no more.

(ding)

Doug: Sorry about that, you lose everything, Matt. But you gave it a great try. (audience applause) (smooth jazz theme plays) We've got a consolation prize for you -- which we'll learn about as we wrap it all up.

Big winner of the show, obviously, is Robert. He'll look to add to his winnings the next time we deal out the big payoffs on Net Poker. 'Til then, make it a great day, keep the faith and treasure your loved ones.

(audience applause)

Scarlett: In addition to their cyber-cash winnings, tonight's runners-up will receive...

From Quoizel Lighting, a choice of brass finish table lamps with bronze highlighting. Compliments contemporary and traditional setting. From Quoizel.

The Mr. Coffee Ultronic System. Space-aged technology for the best cup of coffee on this planet or any other. Furnished by Mr. Coffee.

Jolly Time Popcorn. The poppiest, crispiest, most tender popcorn you ever tasted. Jolly Time.

From Gallery of Homes, a book on home improvements. Gallery of Homes brokers. If you're selling or buying a home, you'll find they do their homework.

And as a consolation prize from the 24K Dice Challenge, Matt Taylor will receive a flokati rug. From Janis Imports, this all wool rug can be used as a wall-hanging, a bed throw or in front of your fireplace. Adds warmth and beauty to your home. A flokati rug from Janis Imports.

(various shots of studio)

Scarlett: (in post production audio) Due to a production error, which happened after his roll of a Queen and a Jack, Matt Taylor will lose half of his winnings from the dice challenge -- meaning he will receive CY$1550 plus the flokati rug.
