Game 51 of Net Poker is about to start. But before we do, some notes and a qualifying question.

\ First, a warm welcome to recently added members to netgames. In our last game of Net Poker, we retired an undefeated champion. So, whether you're a new member of our list or a longtime member, this is a golden opportunity to get in the main game.

\ A new joker's bonus is starting at CY$10,000 and the outlaw's jackpot is currently up to CY$75,000. The winner of this main game could win either -- or even both.

\ With this being Game 51, if you played in the main game of our 48th, 49th or 50th episode, please sit on your hands and let someone else in on the fun. Our recently retired champ will have a longer wait, per the rules.

\ Oh, speaking of rules, the rules for Net Poker can be found here: http://www.dougmorris.net/poker/rules.htm

Now it's on to qualifying. We've got three vacancies on players' row, the aforementioned golden opportunity. So the three players closest to the right answer to this question, high or low, get to play. Here's the question...

On June 8th, 2011, at 4:00pm Central, we watched a rerun of "Silent Library" on MTV2. How much money did the team of six players win in this episode? Please respond in increments of $100.

(To clarify, there was an end-of-show disclaimer noting that footage from some challenges did not air due to time constraints. Unaired challenges that resulted in payoffs are, obviously, not calculated in the right answer to this qualifying question.)

Let's make the answers due Thursday at 8:00pm EDT/7:00pm.

(time passes)

And that's time. If I told you this was the Justin Bieber episode, you might immediately conclude the right answer is...

QUALIFYING ANSWER
$3900

...$3900. Who's the closest?

Kevin $3500

OK, this is one of the newest members I referred to earlier. We'll get a last name from him. Next closest?

Deo $3000

*Another* new member of our group. Welcome him. Next closest?

Melanie Ball $2900

Hey now, three new players. Thanks to everyone else for playing.

Scarlett Gray: "Andy Richter Controls The Pyramid" (audience laughs)
will not be seen at this time -- but we hope it will be seen sometime
soon. Meantime, someone could play Pyramid Scheme on Net Poker --
next.

Scarlett: If any of our players make a natural royal flush, he or she will win CY$1,000,000 -- in the game of high hands and high rewards. From CDM Enterprises, a division of Trax Productions, this is Net Poker.

(audience cheers)

Scarlett: And now, here's the star of our show, Doug Morris!

(Doug walks out from behind the video poker screen)

Doug: I thank you, Scarlett. Helloooooooo, everybody and welcome to Net Poker. Special welcome to our new viewers watching us on QFAZ VBS19 in Flagstaff, Arizona. Welcome to the VBS family of affiliates and welcome to Net Poker.

(audience cheers)

Doug: This is Net Poker, where we combine puzzle-style quizzes with the strategy of poker. We've got three challengers tonight -- because we retired an undefeated champion the last time out. We also have our lovely dealer, D.J. Hamilton.

(audience cheers) (D.J. walks out wearing a sparkling red dress)

D.J.: Hi, ya'll -- especially in Flagstaff. We're going to have a great time with our contestants -- Kevin, Deo and Melanie.

(more cheers)

Doug: Thanks, Deej. We'll see you later at the big monitor for the second phase of this round. Players, to get to that second phase, we have to go through the first phase here in Video Poker. And it's a little something we call...

LEAVE OUT
THE BIEBER

Doug: ...Leave Out The Bieber. (audience laughs) What a way to start our new relationship with the folks in Flagstaff. (more laughs) Here's how this works, I'll include Justin Bieber in the listing of a particular rock band's personnel. What you have to do is live out Bieber -- and name the band.

For example, if I listed John Lennon, Ringo Starr, Justin Bieber and Paul McCartney, you would buzz in and respond "The Beatles".

We have five listings, excluding that example, in this round. Each time you chime in and identify a band correctly, you earn 10 points. If you buzz in and miss, we have to deduct 10 points from your score

After the fifth list, we go to D.J. for a chance at more points. Then the all important third phase, the Poker Run, to find our winner.

Let's give each of you 10 points to start.
