Video Poker

(FF reveal sfx) (Trivia Trap sfx) (audience groans)

Doug: Well, you do have a pair of 10s. It's an improvement. However...

ANDY
DOM
BRIAN

(buzz)

Doug: ...we've gotta dock you 5 points since it's not a pair of Queens or better.

The matter of who'll have the advantages in Poker Run's been decided. Dom will get one free letter and Brian will get two. But -- fellers -- shuffle 'em up, will ya?

(cards are shuffled on the video screen; after shuffling stops, the cards are covered immediately with the 24 numbers)

Doug: Brian, two free shots at making a royal flush for the million start right now. (scattered cheers) Failure at anytime means, at worst, a lost of 5 points. Even if you go down to 25, you *still* are assured of two free letters in Poker Run.

Before you start pickin' numbers, tell us about yourself.

Brian: My name is Brian Henegar. I am currently between jobs, but I love game shows, pro wrestling, and I came to win some MONEY!

Doug: Well, golden opportunity at a million. Pick five numbers, please.

Brian: I will take 1, 4, 8, 13 and 19.

Doug: Okie doke. Let's have a look.

(FF reveal sfx)

Doug: Well, two-fifths of the way toward a royal in Hearts, two-fifths of the way toward a royal in Clubs and one-fifth of the way in Diamonds. Question is -- which way do you go?

Brian: Oh what the heck! Keep the Ace and Queen of Clubs and give me the 2 and 7 and the 13.

Doug: Ummm, you've already picked the 13. I'll hold you to the 2 and 7. Pick one more please.

Brian: Oh so I have. Sorry about that. Ummm -- 14 then.

(drum roll)

Doug: Ah, we go for the dramatic effect, again, eh? If 2, 7 and 14 all hide the other clubs higher than a 9, you win CY$1,000,000.

And for an additional dramatic effect -- I say -- let's take a break.

(audience groans) (smooth jazz theme plays)

Doug: Don't worry, we'll still resolve this round and find out who wins it with the Poker Run -- right after this.

(mixed reax from the crowd)
