Joker Poker Scarlett: The championship's on the line. Dean and Matthias play Joker Poker where one of them could win CY$25,000 -- plus a side pot worth CY$30,000. Back to Doug Morris and Net Poker.
Doug: Thanks, Deej. Before we continue, we have a correction to make -- that really doesn't affect the outcome of our game.
DEAN MATTHIAS ![]()
![]()
Doug: We had Matthias' name misspelled on his podium. We've since fixed that. Two T's in Matthias and no T's in Dean -- unless there's a silent T rule I'm not aware of. (light laughter from the crowd) In any event, Matthias, our apologies.
With that corrected, let's begin our search for a new champ with Joker Poker. We've reset the scores to zero and our theme to start this deciding round is...

THE FRAME GAME
![]()
Doug: ...The Frame Game -- one of my favorites. In The Frame Game, we'll have three frames -- a word in the first frame, a word in the last frame and a hidden word in the middle frame. Your objective is to identify the mystery word. Correctly identifying the mystery word will result two different two-word phrases. For example...

MAIN ??? SMARTS ![]()
Doug: ...we have Main in the top frame and Smarts in the bottom frame. The middle frame would be -- what, oh lovely and talented announcer?
Scarlett: Gotta be Street.
Doug: Yes, Main Street, something you'd find on just about any city map, and "Street Smarts", a famous game show. Remember, any two-word phrase could be a proper name or an exact title. So keep that in mind.
Every time you chime in and correctly identify a word, you'll earn 10 points and the choice of cards. As in the earlier round, the card you decline goes to the opposition. After you each collect four cards, we'll go to a 15-point blind card set of frames. High hand earns an extra 25 points. Then we race to 100 points in the game-deciding Poker Run.
Matthias cut the cards for this round since won the Video Poker round. Let's see the first two cards from the top of that deck for this round.
D.J.: And we're starting with the 10 of Hearts and the Jack of Diamonds.
Doug: OK, before we show you words in frames, I should note there are two Jokers in the deck Matthias cut -- hence the name Joker Poker. If you draw a Joker, you can use it for anything when your hand's complete. In this round only, five of a kind will get you CY$1,000,000. A *natural* royal flush is also worth the million.
All right, Matthias, Dean, good luck to you both as we start with these frames.

WRIGLEY ??? TRIP ![]()
Doug: Matthias.
Matthias: Field.
Doug: That's right.
Doug: First ten points of the championship round go to you as well as a choice of card.
Matthias: Take the Jack.
Doug: Taking the knave and, of course...

DEAN
MATTHIAS
![]()
Doug: ...that means Dean gets the 10. Let's see the next two cards, please.
D.J.: The Jack of Spades and the King of Diamonds.
Doug: Two face cards up for grabs this time. Take a look at these frames.

QUICHE ??? BRACCO ![]()
Doug: Dean.
Dean: Lorraine.
Doug: That's right.
Doug: Tie ballgame at 10. Which card, Dean?
Dean: I'll take the Jack to stop that pair.
Doug: He breaks up the pair -- but in the process...

DEAN
MATTHIAS
![]()
Doug: ...Matthias is 2/5 of the way toward a natural royal flush. Both players 2/5 of the way toward any straight. Next two cards.
(scattered cheers and woos from the crowd)
D.J.: The Joker and the Ace of Diamonds.
Doug: First Joker in the round crops up. Just a note to Matthias, if you want to go for the million, the royal flush has to be made naturally. With that clarified, here are the next frames...

SQUARE ??? FEVER ![]()
Doug: Matthias.
Matthias: Dance.
Doug: That's right.
DEAN MATTHIAS ![]()
![]()
Doug: Can you imagine the theme to "Dance Fever" with a square dance/country twang? (audience laughs) Matthias, which card?
Matthias: I'll take the Ace, please.
Doug: Well now, bold move on your part...

DEAN
MATTHIAS
![]()
Doug: ...Dean gets the Joker out of that exchange -- meaning he has, at least, two Jacks. Mathias with Ace-King-Jack of Diamonds. He's hoping just *one* of these next two cards is a Diamond higher than a 9. Let's have a look.
D.J.: The Queen of Diamonds and the 10 of Diamonds. Matthias, so sorry.
Doug: Well, Matthias, the royal could be complete. It just wouldn't be a natural. So the million's out of this discussion. But these next frames enter it. Take a look.

FREE ??? GARAGE ![]()
Doug: Dean.
Dean: Parking.
Doug: Right you are.
Doug: Free parking -- parking garage. Dean, you've tied the score at 20. Which card would you like before the blind card frames?
Dean: I'll take the Queen.
Doug: Taking the lady in red and Mathias...

DEAN
MATTHIAS
![]()
Doug: ...get the 10 in red. Now, the final two cards for the *hands* come face down.
Doug: From this moment on, questions are worth at least 15 points each. This set of frames is exactly worth 15 plus a choice of card. Here they came.
